  11. I'm getting a real WWII vibe. Allies had to really lay on it on thick wit the propaganda to get the populace tolerate cooperating with Stalin. So much so , that when they spied in the US, as everyone was looking for Nazi's, the scientists were feeling sympathetic towards communists. Equality for all? everything distributed fairly? naive perhaps,but intriguing and harmless. Right? well then came the 50's and the FBI along with Senator McCarthy and friends had to make up for a whole lot of lost time. Then there is all the foolishness the CIA got up to. Propping up dictators for crumbs of Russian intelligence. That the Russians probably at least sometimes knew would get to american hands.
    Oh yea, we also had to hand over a bunch of soviet soldiers that had escaped from the russian front lines and to the western ones. Hand them over to a certian death. Because there was a whole lot of Americans that got over to the russian held areas, either on purpose to party and mingle, getting lost , or intentional coordination do seal off that part of the frontline. Well, it just so happened that the russians found plenty of entertainment and lodging for their new American friends, but little in the way of transport heading westward. And the trucks would never come: not unless they came from the west filled with men marked to die.

    The lesson folks? Sometimes you are better off with a plan that must result in the shedding of so much more young men's blood, lest the nation deal with the consequences on their soul. Some things are worth dying for.
