The Most Brutal Period of the Clone Wars & It's Not Even Close – A Deep Look At the Outer-Rim Sieges

Thanks to the machinations of Darth Sidious, the Clone Wars were a stalemate for most of their duration. For years, the Republic and the CIS fought a back-and-forth war, each capturing and losing territory in turn. Until the Battle of Coruscant, most of the galaxy was under the impression that there was no end to the war in sight. But starting in late 20 BBY, the truth was that the Republic was winning. Slowly but surely, the Republic had begun to centralize and rally its industrial might, and by the start of 19 BBY, it was pushing Separatist forces back on every front, bringing the fight to the Rimward strongholds of the Confederacy. These grueling final months of the Clone Wars were known as the Outer Rim Sieges, and in this long-form video we’ll be telling the full story of this bloody chapter of the war.

  1. This video is wrong because Star Wars: Rebels says that the Separatist military vastly outnumbered the Republic military at the end of the Clone war. That the CIS only lost because of the Droid shut down command.

It also doesn't make sense the Republic had a bigger industry because droids can help build ships and other weapons 24/7. Droid factories operate 24/7. Droids don't need food, sleep, or rest. Just electrical power. So of course the Separatists had bigger industrial might and capacity than the Republic.

The battles where the republic won were because Sidious allowed the republic to win. Not because they had a bigger military.

  2. If the Searpatists won at Kashyyyk, how will this impacted the Clones Wars? I mean, the Separatist Council will no longer have the reason to surrender now that they can regrouped at Kashyyyk and scatter once again all over the Republic space and launch raids there and there, making the war lasted longer. But aside from that, will this hammered down Palpatine's declaration of the Empire? And will there be anything else that can be added here as impacts of this Separatists' victory?

  3. I would like a video on the battle of Boomis Koori IV. I find it funny that the arrogant General of the Seperatist army spent all of his resources on defenses for his base expecting to fight a huge clone army only for him and his army to be defeated by only TWO JEDI.

  4. What I wonder was how an why all them Yagdul fleets an any CIS forces, other then Sideous's doing. Never learned of all the secret counter attack forces including multiple fleets just waiting for them with orders to launch an all out galaxy wide counter assault an crush them… It basically was going "yeah CIS got played…" So much for the propaganda the Republic was losing… Losing forces an their factions lost the ability to pull off such counter attacks an set those sorta traps

  5. I’m sorry to say this, but I feel like the calm meditative track used in the background of the first three chapters is kinda out of place for this type of video 😅. Still, great content as always!

  6. Ya know… if Star Wars Battlefront 3 ever becomes a thing, we need a gamemode dedicated to the Outer-Rim Sieges.

Yes, a whole game mode. We've had Galactic Assault, Supremacy, all that, but there should be like, a section dedicated to bringing out maps of planets just used for the purpose of granting an authentic feel for the hellush situations in the Outer-Rim Sieges.

  7. The interesting thing about how this is framed in the story is that it depicts vast swathes of space and their campaigns as sieges.
Shows a sense of scale and subtle dread at the massive amount of war occurring at this time

  8. At first I thought The Clone Wars was just a fun series about the fighting between the end of AotC and the beginning of RotS. Little did I know that the point of the show was to depict the Jedi losing their way in the conflict while the Chancellor gains more power over the Senate and the courts.
