I do think you are being too harsh on Dead Island 2, Phil. A 7/10 game is still good and not every game has to be some 9 or 10/10 masterpiece. It was a bit disingenuous saying that it’s shit.
I personally think Dead Island 2 will be better and already is better than Dying Light 2. Reviews are good overall and its better than some even expected, sure its nothing major or groundbreaking but its fun. I truly think people would enjoy it the whole way trough, as i would too. And it probably doesn’t even take too much time to beat. Nonetheless, very sad to see you not playing it but i respect your decision
