The Last Time We Ever Play With AI Generated Magic Cards Feat: @MTGRemy

What if a Neural Network designed magic cards, except, we only fed it cards from Fire design (the most broken era of MTG)!? Carl & @MTGRemy are here to find out, for the last time.

  1. Teferi, Time and The steam hunt made me burst out in laughter in the office. Teferi being dodge truck legendary planeswalker – vehicle in green is absolutely hilarious

  2. As a parent with a toddler that intro explanation of a neural-network was relatable.
My kid points at train, "Choo Choo?"
Me, "Yes that is a train."
My kid points at a UPS Truck, "Choo Choo?"
Me, "Nope that is a truck."
My kid points at train again, "Truh-k?"
Me, "No that is a Train."
My kid excitedly yelling, "CHOO CHOO!"

  3. Assert The Multitudes is getting at a cool design for a counterspell. "Counter target spell, if it's a prmanent exile it instead. put it onto the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step." for 1U could be a neat design.

  4. Sad this is the last. The hilarious AI card videos are my favorites on the channel! Thanks Remy for being a fan and bringing us one last hoorah!

I love that a real card (mindslaver) exists that almost makes the Rabbit executioner's ability relevant!😆

  5. Let's go over some of the rules questions that got encountered:

2:27 – I know this is fun, but I would argue that this isn't a castable card.
6:23 – This was 6 damage, not 3. Creature has double strike. Double strike means it deals damage in the first strike damage step, and the regular damage step. Redundant double strikes are irrelevant.
10:23 – Fun fact. The equipment had annihilator 4, so even if it was equipped on a creature, the creature wouldn't have annihilator 4, so opponent wouldn't have to sacrifice. If the artifact somehow got animated, then opponent would have to sacrifice 4 permanents on attack.
14:48 – This was actually an illegal play. "Return target creature to it's owner's graveyard". Since there is no "from" clause here, target creature refers to the battlefield, and there was no legal creature for DFHC to target.
17:02 – Whoever activates the ability first, it will be tapped, and you can't respond by tapping it to crew. Most steps, players will get priority in which to cast spells or abilities. In most circumstances, the first player that could activate the ability would be the themselves during the upkeep step. If they pass priority there, the opponent has the opportunity to activate the ability. If neither player does, you go to draw step, and the same thing happens to go to main phase 1, and so on. In this case, I would argue that Remy passed priority without activating the ability until the beginning of combat step, passed priority, and then Carl activated it. That creature would be tapped as paying the cost. Remy wont have a chance to respond to crew.

  6. Double strike is "damage first, (like first strike) then normal combat." Double double strike is up to interpretation. Do both first strikes land before main combat? The card gets double combat as well. But, is the second first stike and main combat double damage contingent on being alive through the first set of rounds?
