  1. I think season 1 has been pretty solid but it's (imo) expectedly inferior to the game overall. I liked how faithful it was to the source material, the set design, and the acting. Definitely far from being peak television but it's one of the best video game adaptations, although the bar is still low. My biggest problems are as follows: mostly rushed pacing, violence too tame, and lack of subtleties compared to the games. Some of the sideplots and expansion of the story and lore were also honestly not needed.

    Season 1 ranked: 5 > 1 > 8 > 9 > 7 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 6

  2. I agree and always said Joel was a bad person in the games but at the same time I think we’d all would try and protect a child from being killed especially when they didn’t tell Ellie she would die

  3. Goddayum BG. You got a point. Joel did make that decision off of selfishness alone. But I actually agree all the way with his decision. if those who had deceived him about Ellie's condition would've told him that the procedure requires doing surgery on the brain, all of that would've been prevented and that chicks life would've been spared. Anyway, great video as usual

  4. Awesome to see BG so passionate about The Last of Us with every review of each episode even though he said Part 1 was an overrated game in the past, lol. Love it.

I need that same passion when Amazon’s Tomb Raider tv show comes 😀

  5. It's pretty clear that this show is a downgrade to the game. Pascal's delivery was fucking lethargic.
BG's mostly correct about Joel's decision-making, but my problem with Part II is that there's no actual examination of it. Abby doesn't seem to give a fuck about the cure. She cares about her dad, and that's it. None of the Fireflies even bother giving the "you damned the world lecture" when they capture him. Not even Ellie seems to really care about the wider world, she just seems to be insulted that she can't be the hero.

We can criticize Joel for being emotional, but that's all the writing for this series wants to engage in. There's no intellectual debate about what would be done with the vaccine if they were able to make one. You think the Fireflies would go around providing it for free?

  6. If the fireflies put Joel and Ellie in a room together and broke the news that the operation would kill her, the fall out wouldn’t even happen. The show and game already confirm Ellie would die for the cause, the fact she couldn’t consent to it makes the fireflies as trash as is Joel’s canon actions. Fireflies screwed themselves, not Joel. Ellie was on their side, skill issue lol.

  7. They can’t redacted Joel in season 2 too early… seeing as they rushed thru a lot in this season they’ll need a little more time to make ppl attached to his character before it happens to make it hit harder

  8. Sorry bg, you're wrong about Joel and Ellie's relationship. No one's a saint in the TLOU world sh*t u can even blame Marlene for not being honest about the procedure that was planned for Ellie.

I know it was only a year but a year in that world is probably 5yrs straight up. That's where the TV series failed to deliver. The build up of Ellie and Joel's relationship, fighting their way through countless encounters, and not knowing what's around the corner. They went through alot.

Joel was the dad that Ellie wanted and Ellie was the daughter Joel lost but found again.

  9. I think he sparred the nurses for one or 2 reasons.
    1. The writers want the audience to still respect Joel and him killing unarmed women would turn many to dislike him.
    2. They were unarmed and were no threat.

I think it was the right move because if they wanted people to hate Abby in the beginning of TLoU2 they couldn't make people waver on if they still liked Joel after killing two innocent nurses.

  10. So much cap in this video, even BG trying hard to laugh at the BS he spouting. Marlene was so pure that she would let a good friends child die without at least explaining it to her and not even telling Joel about the connection to Ellies mum, probably because she doesn't want to face confronting questions, she also doesn't even tell Joel from the start what they plan to do with Ellie, because she simply wants to use Joel. Also the amount of people she has killed and terrorised makes her far from pure. Also yes Joel was selfish, but he was also around Ellie and saw that she had hopes and aspirations, Ellie was so convinced that she could have a life after, but they were going to take that away, without even asking her, so no it wasn't all for Joel.

  11. The whole point of the story isn't about who's right or wrong. If we didn't play as Joel, it would be understandable why people thought he was an asshole and wanted to kill him. Everyone can agree he made the "wrong" decision but it was still understandable because we know his story.

  12. I thought In The game the giraffe part hit more because there was more of a struggle to get there through fighting infected and everything and then Ellie’s all disconnected emotionally for the first time in the game and Joel’s the one trying to get her back to being ok, so when the giraffes get there I see why people felt relief and joy in the game

  13. The other thing was this was a good episode but WAY TOO SHORT for a finale it’s ridiculous, the game doing the tunnel scenes was way better than what we got and I know they know the Action and Infected was lacking

  14. A 6.5 lol you sound goofy on what scale is this slightly above average what are you comparing it to ? Breaks every record possible brings in millions of new fans and portrays the game better than the game does at points and it’s slightly above average ?
