Took a lot of rewrites and revisions to get this story feeling like it flowed well. Short stories don't lend themselves well to perspective jumps, but I think they aren't too jarring here in the final version.
This is the last fantasy story I'll put out before the novel later in the year. A long horror story will follow in February.
