  2. It's doubly poignant that Hazel and Gus kiss in the attic where Anne Frank and Peter Van Piels also fell in love. A mirroring of two sets of teenagers, born in different times, both couples under the heavy threat of impending death before they reach adulthood, but finding solace and connection in one another, amidst sadness and difficulties no one should experience.

  3. Fun fact: The Swedish title of The Fault in our Stars is “Förr eller senare exploderar jag” which translates to “Sooner or later I’ll explode”

  4. This is your first Ansel Elgort Film? I can’t imagine that you three have not seen the DIVERGENT series. It stars Shialene Woolley and Ansel is her brother. The first two of three films are so kick ass!! It seems that that film would be at the top of your list!!!! I like it better than the Mockingjay series.
The Anne Frank house really is in Amsterdam, but couldn’t get permission to film I’m there due to no video or cameras allowed. The restaurant is also real but they couldn’t film there because it was so small. So, they built two complete replicas of both places.

Whoever asked, “Hey, is that Vivaldi?” Is amazing!
Yes, what they played was a part of Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”. Good catch!!!

I cried the most during Hazel reading her real eulogy to Gus. It was so beautiful and true.

  5. Oh, I remember watching this at the cinema and I could not, for the life of me, stop crying at the end. It has got to be one of my favorite movies, they did the book justice!

Also, side note; this was filmed at the actual Anne Frank House in Amsterdam! Anne Frank and her family moved to the Netherlands in 1933. They hid in the annex of the building her fathers company was located from July '42 until August '44. It has been a museum since the '60s, which Otto Frank (Anne's father and only surviving member of the Frank family) oversaw.

  8. I Read the Book and Loved it. Later I heard they made movie out of it, I hoped it would be as good as the book & it was just like in the book I imagined ❤

But The thing messed me up was these two actors did another movie called ‘Divergent’ (Very good movies series) around the same time of this movie and in it they were Siblings 😂 it was a roller coaster ride 😂 Both Good movies though 😊

  9. When I was 17 I had already lost my dad the year before and my mom was sick and in the hospital. I sat by her bed and I told her that it's okay to let go and that I will be okay. 😢

  10. The absolute saddest moment in the book for me was after the gas station scene, she calls him Gus and Augustus turns to her and says "thats the first time touve called me that" and its him realising that shes seeing him differently after he has his breakdown and it devastates him 😢😢😢😢😢😢

  11. Anne Frank Haus is 💯 in Amsterdam. That’s the house where she and her family hid from the nazis before they were found out and sent to concentration camps. I’ve been there twice and it’s very sad but also about hope . I think that’s why Hazel pushed herself so much with the stairs. It’s about struggle and hope even when so much adversity.

  12. This movie and A walk to remember are like weirdly kind of comforting even though they make me cry haha. I think I just find the couples aspect very cute and calming

  13. watching this in the cinema when it came out was a surreal experience. all you heard were people, mostly teenagers, sobbing – including me. i could barely see towards the end because of all the tears.

  14. i forgot how cringey some of the dialogue in this movie/book is now that i'm an adult, and it's making it kinda hard to watch this reaction lmao.
