Love all the effort you put into these vids, thanks!
Nom nom nom. Tasty planet you have here.
Man, the similarities between these guys and the flood is astounding
While deadly we shall still resist the Hive Mind. Ave Imperitor. Gloria in excelsis Terra.
While the Hive Mind is terrifyingly intelligent, I would argue based on it's behaviour that it is not Sapient and in a fundamental way, is not capable of higher reasoning. The reason I say this, is because it's current strategy for survival is not sustainable in the long term. The Tyranids strip absolutely everything in their path, leaving sterilized world's in their wake where life will never and can never regrow. What happens when they have stripped every world they can reach? What happens when there are no more worlds to consume? A reasoning intelligence would realise this possibility and alter it's behaviour accordingly, maybe even adopting a form of farming of worlds and not simply stripping them bare. Instead, the Hive Mind behaves like a locust swarm, just stripping everything then moving on with no consideration for it's long term survival and will ultimately consume itself.
Another swarm i highly recommend @scifisafari should look at is the…. well…..Swarm, also known as the Stings, from the game Honkai Star Rail.
Something that makes the Stings unique among invasive swarm aliens is that they all are extensions of a once singular entity that then ascended to become a god like being despite the original entity being an animal that simply didn't want to be alone.
How can you fly into a hivefleet without being devoured.
You forgot that the nids also accelerate growth in plant life so there's more to absorb
It's interesting to hearing on about the Tyranids biology and their own evolutionary stages for the more in depth analysis of these speices. I'm curious that if we could any in depth scope on the Zerg & the Protoss speices from the Starcraft universe
My good man, may I see your xenos study certification from the holy Ordo Xenos. You do have it?
…
ARBITES BLAST HIS ASS
The tyranids may not be the first galactic superorganism, but no one can say that they're not a contender for the best.
Dang and I thought xenomorphs were scary, wow.
This is one of the few times im was actually worried for our dear doctor and manta. Should any of the of the various races or especially the imperium stumble upon their ship im afraid it probably wouldnt end well. If you ever feel like braving the danger of the grimdark future again i feel like orks would be pretty interesting to look into as well
I have been a long time 40K fan. 25 plus years, and the Tyranids were what got me into the lore.
Can’t wait to see you get into how the Genestealer lifecycle works. It’s one of the most interesting things about them.
I would love you to do a video of this style on The Flood. Maybe not next expedition though, we don’t want people to get burned out on hiveminds that want to consume all life in the galaxy and amass biomass to strengthen itself.
No matter what next expedition is though, I’ll be there.
Purge the heretics.
These guys are just the things nightmares are made of. Intergalactic trash compactors. Everyone’s going in!
Do you still remember my video requests/ideas? If not, here's my requests/ideas:
*Shin Godzilla (Shin Godzilla 2016 film)
*Any/All Jurassic Park's/World's dromaeosaurs (InGen's Veloci-raptors, BioSyn's Atroci-raptors, BioSyn's Pyroraptors, and two hybrids like Indominus rex and Indoraptor)
*Hazbin Hotel's/Helluva Boss's angels and demons (yes, I know this isn't really Sci-fi, but it would be cool to see the biology and science of VivziePop's angels and demons, even if they're not really plausible)
Could you do one on the custodies?
Ah, I was waiting for your gaze to be turned to the 'nids. 40k's veri own endless horde of all devouring locusts from beyond the void.
Would love to see some of 40k's other aliens analyzed. The Eldar and Orks in particular would make for awesome videos.
MANTA- "so they just regurgitate when they're done?"
Me- "… you sweet summer child…no."
I really like how Felix was using the minis as his specimens. Really brings me back to when I was painting my own….
Very well done video.
Just like the zergs in ❤️ star craft.
The Nids have a major weakness, they cant travel at FTL.
They spend so much time traveling galaxies have time to grow back i suspect.
I would like for tyrant virus and Golgotha virus explanation in the future. Possibly the lesser known t+G which is basically a near-perfected recombination of both viruses.
do Brethren Moons biology next
