  1. Good stuff. 🙂 Most of my bases are variations of that second base, it's silly good basic design. Very cheap and simple to build for first horde nights especially if using some flat roofed brick/concrete POI and after adding electric fences and some concrete & steel upgrades they keep up even on very high game stages. 🙂

  2. I had heard about the 11 block thing but I thought I understood differently. From the way they explained it to me was if you made your base 11+ blocks tall they would also not go into destroy area because they are 11+ blocks away when they hit the ground. Though I wonder what happens if they land on each other and end up 10 blocks away that way

  3. Heyo! So tried your killing corridor the way you made it in day 7 horde. Real easy stuff just to see how it works. I found a couple issues with your design, so I thought I would share them with you.

    1) You mentioned the 11 square rule about zombies destroying everything for a bit. Did not know that thank you very much for that info!!!. However, you did not account for that in the height of your platform. I also made this mistake. They piled up on the base of where I was standing like crazy they were almost 3 sq high. So I think it needs to be 11-12 high. I will try in when I get to day 14 and let u know. The problem is the zombies come from all directions in the horde so the ones coming from behind where you're standing try to get you from below.

    2) The narrowness of the corridor where the hole is – they come up 2 at a time and get stuck. On day 7 that's not an issue, but I can see this being a problem on later horde nights. I think the a17 strategy of making the wedge tips part of the floor, not along the sides will work better. I used to use 4×2 of the wedge tips making holes across the platform rather than along it. I will also update my design in this way too. Let's see how that works.

    Hope this helps.

  4. I don't understand why everyone seems to want to build several blocks high off the ground. just do one block. I don't think they go into the destroy everything mode. i used my first, desperate build up until somewhere around day 80 or so. the next one i built was just in a new location and bigger. I learned to add walls to narrow the filed of view of the cops. Now i've added electrical wire traps to freeze them in place. I also made the pathway 4 blocks wide to spread them out and deal with the volume. next one i may only go 3 wide. I learned from my old base that them lining up works well to conserve ammo. Oh, it's also only made of cobble stone. I've been building up my cement supplies to make something bigger, now i'm not really sure i want to bother until this just fails.

When ever the game starts throwing in demolition and bears, this base design may suffer due to a misplaced shot.

  5. For the melee base I do something similar but use pillar 0.5 and leave my blocks one below so they have to hop on it. It keeps the numbers manageable but not falling off every swing. Instead of a hatch at the beginning, I put doubled iron bars so a 5k total HP to get through, though it does need forged iron to repair. But not been a problem before and wasn't an issue on this A21 for day 7.

Edit: I also put a hat brim over the opening on the melee similar to what he did on the first one to keep them from stacking and getting on the roof.

  6. How would it work if your 11 blocks high, like u knock them off an edge an they fall 11 block to the ground.
Would they go into destroy mode?

  7. Does this only work in Alpha 20? I assumed because you mentioned CautiousPancake that it would, unless they found it during Alpha 21 testing – But yeah, I made the base practically identical to this, but no matter how many times I redid the test, the would go up each side of the stairs, mainly the right side, and would start banging on blocks during their first fall each test. I even tried making the part I stand on slightly longer, being at about 15-ish blocks from the (end) of the "Killing Corridor" (the side closest to the player) and yeah, they kept beating on blocks, and a couple of times even went for the support pillars under my character, smack it a couple times, and run back towards the stairs.

Is there a limit to how many blocks away you need to be? Do you have to be exactly at a specific number away? Or at least 11 as mentioned in the video? (And is this A21 only, or does it also work with A20?)

  10. Love everything about the A21 exp release, however I am starting to not like the learn by reading change. This kind of makes the progression drag out a lot longer then it needs to. Also the dew collectors were an amazing idea but they were horribly implemented. Used the dew collectors from days 1-8 and now they are completely useless as I find more then enough murky water from looting the bigger POIs. Also food is still very much abundant. Not really sure where they were going with this change. I do love the look of the reworked crafting stations though.

  11. what would happen if you build a melee horde base (with the center pole) but 13 blocks high? would it stop them from entering area destruction mode when they fall down since they'd be 11 block away from the player at ground level?

  12. The only guy I trust when making a base. Your previous one from a few years ago worked great, I have faith this one will to. I’m only 20 seconds into the video😂
