It's a serious condition for that little girls,sorry to saying this.what can they do its forbidden island. no pills there no medical or hospital near. it is sci. fictional movie can be little similar to the present society. there must be maternity hospitals near. the movie is based on phsyiological conditions how they makes decisions in this tough situations.when no proper medical treatment there. say thank god we are not in that island we livining good society. Mr. Night Shyamlan is very good director shows humans immotions in very tough ways
