  1. Enjoy the next 1.5 years of the EV revolution in the USA or what is left of it. This is more proof that the Republicans are against EVs concerning EV’s in the military. Should the Republicans win the presidential elections expect them to overturn all EV mandates including the IRA. The Republicans will derail CARB mandates as well as pulling out of the Paris Climate agreements. Remember Trump did pull out of the Paris Climate Agreements when he was in office. Remember many of the EV regulations were done by mandates not by legislation so all of this, will go up in a puff of smoke. Republicans are reactionaries which means that they are resistant to change. As such, they are afraid of innovations.

  2. I used to read Electrek, but your show is so much more concise and gives a nice, brief overview of what's happened in the past week. If something looks interesting enough to explore further, I go look for that, but you do a great job of the glossy overview in TEN. I've enjoyed your deeper dives, too, and have referenced the episode, "Secrets of CCS Fast Charging" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZcyamMRsbA&t=16s) more than once, as a great explainer to other folks.

  3. The NSU Prinz is an ideal EV candidate, rear engine bay is large with a tiny 600cc motor , and a transaxle. Nothing in the front, needed a sack of spuds to keep it stable… My first car ever…

  4. With 7% of the Auto sales being EVs, widespread adoption is far off. The EV industry hasn’t done enough to make EV’s affordable to a large segment of the general public. If this doesn’t happen soon and with the US elections next year, widespread adoption of EV will never occur and you can blame the EV industry for that.

  5. Too much negativity in the comments today. Here’s a big THANK YOU for being the go-to source for EV news!

Also, that Rivian daisy chain thing sounds interesting. Not sure how well it would practically work, but interesting anyway!

  6. It's been a while since I found myself drooling over a car, but that Caterham grabbed my attention immediately. I thought the days when a car could do that were long past. Given a few seconds to look at it though, I can't help but see Aston clearly defined in those profile lines, with a bit of GT40 in the front.

  7. While it is a good car, I still think it’s unfortunate that the Mach E is named mustang. Sure, history may show that in the future nobody will remember the origins of the car, but until there is an electric mustang coupe, as far as I’m concerned, there’s no electric mustang yet.

They should’ve called it a probe or some thing, or literally any other name that Ford has from history would’ve been better than mustang.

That said, a lot of people like the vehicle, so I’m glad they made it, and if that’s the only way that they would make it, fair enough. But it still doesn’t Evoke a mustang even with the performance.

  8. Has anyone looked at Kenya's electric delivery system? Last I checked they were reporting systemic outages due to old infrastructure. It looks like less than half the population are able to have reliable power, 6% have no power most of the time or non at all, it's had 3 nationwide power outages in 4 years.
National per capita income is 2,100USD and electricity costs $0.14 per kw so 30kw will cost almost all of that person's income for that day.

  9. Rad power bikes look as if they were designed 7 years ago, haven't they heard of mid drive motors or are there still enough unenlightened customers who think hum motors are just fine and dandy.

  10. I get the appeal of the Mustang badge, and with a history to include the Shelby and the Cobra there was some oomph and beauty to be proud of, back in the day. However, with the introduction of the Mustang II, purists lost all claim to a consistent canon. Mustang is whatever Ford says it is, and the Mach-e seems to be holding its own better than many in the past.

  12. Please, Think about practicing your Korean over your German. Your friends over at Now You Know are finally more consistently saying Hyundai (현대, hyeondae) like Sunday. Then this channel will continue its efforts on being more inclusive and respectful. I'm surprised the Now You Know guys beat you to it.

  13. unbelievable how 'the lone star state' politicians would "indefinitely" delay voting which would give them federal money to build out EV infrastructure, morons!

  14. lol! "U.S. Military – EVs are gay"! Does this mean I'm going to have to change my preference?! More of the sarcasm please Nikki (hope I spelled your name correctly? Apologies and Best Wishes if not 🙂).

  15. It's funny, I haven't seen the following Ford news: 346k 2020-21 Ford Escape SUVs are being investigated for door problems. Inventory for the Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning is increasing — production is exceeding demand though they are not making that many…I am dying to see the full production & inventory numbers of all Ford's EVs at the end of this year.

However, TE is stating that the F-150 Lightning is selling "pretty well" because Ford sold out of their 2023 lower model.

  16. The EU "400kW chargers every 60km" should be clarified that it's on select routes; not everywhere in every direction. It's a good number of routes and it's overall good news, it's just incomplete news without that bit.

  17. Do give a shout out to Bjorn Nyland in Norway. What a trooper, he has just done one of his 1000km challenges [620miles] in a 10yr old, 33% degraded battery, 24kW Nissan Leaf with only 14kWh usable energy left! It took him about 24 charge stops, driving 20-25mins then charging for 15mins over about 19.5hours!!! A mad experiment you might say but a hero of the EV cause. What it also shows is that, if you have fantastic charging infrastructure like Norway has, then you can still get about with an older smaller range EV – at least in Europe without continental scale distances.

  18. Got to love politicians that say to the military, “no, you can’t have fast, almost silent vehicles that can be powered up by solar anywhere in the world and power communications equipment!”
    ‘cause who’d want that?
