Our 2D sprites are designed to have realistic shadows in the 3D world, from any direction of camera or light source. That means showing the right sprite of shadow, as well as the basic capability to receive and cast shadows from other objects as if it the sprite had 3D volume. The behaviour is pretty tricky to achieve, which is the main reason people avoid dynamic shadows in 2.5D games (or lock camera movement and light source direction). What do you think of it?
