Summarizing the Elden Ring Previews (Day 607)



The first part of the video is spoiler free, going over the PC spec debacle, Kitao’s interview, and info about Elden ring being real. Then, after that, I try to summarize all the information we got from people’s hands on impressions of playing Elden Ring for 6 hours. It was a lot of stuff, which is why this video took so long (along with IRL stuff), but I still got it done before the 12th (at least, in my timezone, ha).

Can't wait to play this game, all the new classes are amazing, finally is almost here.Just one (maybe stupid) thing I expected from elden ring, for all the time i thought that finally strength governs the equip load as from softwere told, unfortunately they back to dark souls 1 stat mode! is that endurance has nothing to do with how much weight a person can lift, lifting weight IS strength! I would have preferred that they connected vitality on equip load this point..However the hype for this game is extremely high and i still think that this will be the game for me, one of the game that i'll play for a long time. Thank you from for your games anyway, can't wait to definitively lose my social life on this game!

  2. Being able to rename my character seems like a small thing, but honestly, it's the best change they could have added to customization. I eventually want to do niche builds but being able to change name and appearance to do it seems so much better than restarting a new file.

  3. i think im feeling pretty confident in Vagabond for my starting class. going straight for the flail and greataxe and aiming for a strength build.

    unfortunate that equip load was moved to stamina i was really looking forward to heavy armor being a strength build thing. i guess im going ham on the endurance early game. i usually do that anyways, but im still going to work into a strength build later on.

  4. Carry weight being tied to endurance again is the most disappointing thing I've heard so far. Carry weight shouldn't be a universal stat, because dex and magic builds don't need to be wearing heavier armor than strength characters. If they want to wear heavier armor, they can invest in some strength as a bonus stat.

  5. Again, what's your source for END affecting equip load? I'm bugging you about this because I only saw it in one random italian article, which isn't a credible source.

    Edit: lmao when it gets to END at 10:00 max equip load doesn't light up, but when it goes over STR it lights up. At least choose footage that doesn't completely contradict what you're saying…

Here’s the thing… after hearing your regular voice while you stream, I realized that you don’t actually talk in that floaty congested anemic heroin-dosed borderline-comatose voice that you do the intros to these videos in. So whyyyyy do u do it. It’s not relaxing/comforting (especially on those countless days that you were letting us know that there’s no Elden ring news), and it doesn’t sound like a parody of anything I recognize (i.e. when people mock that fake archaic radio broadcaster voice).
    So why?! Why do it Mordy? Just to make me wanna punch myself?!?

  7. It’s kinda frustrating when FromSoft undoes some progress they’ve previously made; leaving out quality of life features that they’ve finally added to a previous game. For example, not planning to include a boss-replay feature (like the boss rush and reflections of strength), despite already having done it in Sekiro and knowing it was a much appreciated and beloved feature.
    Or leveling up. After having to go to the damn Hunters Dream every single time we wanted to level up, they finally got it right with Sekiro — you could level up without even having to rest / reset the world! But in ER, NOPE. You can’t level up without resetting the world + respawning all enemies. 😭😭😭😭😭

    (Also, ffs gents, give us a damn photo mode. The art direction is so incredible — it deserves a photo mode more than most games. I never even knew I wanted it until I played the Demon’s Souls Remake.)

  8. I feel they should have kept equipment load tied to strength (EDIT: rather than Endurance/Stamina). It makes more sense, and IMO would have led to better balance in character builds, especially for PVP

  9. I'd like to see some form of "best bits" montage to celebrate everything you've done over the last 2 years or so. Everything from day 1, the spicy rumours, the reveal and your reaction, the anticipation we have now, and finally the release day. I think it would be a nice way to tie it all together. Not many people are so dedicated to something like this

  10. “Equip load tied to stamina stat” and then video shows it is 100% tied to strength. Thanks for spreading misinformationand fake news. Also, “stamina stat”? Do you mean endurance? There is no stamina stat bro
