Oh Wow – Thanks so much for this, LG – really helpful!!!
Here is a tip for leveling pilot skill: Enemy ship kills in the combat simulator counts. So if you need 15 kills, just go to the MAST building, jump into the combat sim, lower the difficulty if you want, and kill 15 ships in 5 mins.
A great place to sell contraband is in the Wolf system. There's a trade authority and they don't scan you when you arrive.
You can mine faster with the Cutter if you hold down the aim button while firing the laser. Please share this, I see no youtuber covering this and its a big time saver!
Cutters – there are a few available on Vecterra (starting moon) assuming you didn't loot them to sell already. You'll find a few others – but yeah, keep your cutter.
Digipicks – you can buy 1-3 at many vendors – costs about 35 each.
Goods marked Stolen (RED) – sell to Trade authority – then WITHOUT leaving the trade screen – switch to buy, go down to Buy Back – and buy back stuff you want to keep – that'll clear the stolen tag – so the next time you forget you picked up Contran and fly into a patrolled system you won't wind up with a 700-900cr fee and finding your way out of jail (not hard unless you've never been to that town, then you're just wandering around trying to find your way back to your ship.)
Throw a baby out with the bath water!?? Huhhhh I never ever heard that one ๐
I really hope Bethesda makes skills work retroactively. Thats so annoying
Not sure if anyoneโs mentioned it but you only get scanned in systems owned by a faction. Heading to The Den in Wolf system means you can sell all your contraband without being scanned.
Selling and buying back removes the stolen indicator
If you want to use your stolen stuff, sell to Trade Authority and then buy back at the same price you sold it for (CLEANED). But BEFORE you close the store.
Im lv 9 n have 30+ digipicks. N I open or atleast try to open everything. Failed like first 4x
I would strongly recommend beating the main storyline FIRST before completing anything else.
I just need to know where I can offload basic merch. Do I always have to go back to New Atlantis?
Helpful tips. Thank you
– i was distracted by other "quests"๐
There's a nice rare cutter on the colonists ship paradiso mission.
I get scanned flying in unless there's another way to get to the merchant.
they have an Enhance and Reliant Medical in New Alantis City too, havenโt checked at the other hubs though
I wish I knew sooner to cancel my pre-order. This game is a cash grab buggy mess
lock picking is super hard for me in this game argh
The ships in the UC Vanguard flight simulator count towards upgrading your piloting skill.
"throw the baby out with the bath water" ๐
You also earn free digipicks by doing the Ryujin Industries Faction Quests. There is also a Trade Authority Vendor at the Den in the Wolf System that you can go to and sell stolen/contraband items without having to endure a scan. Helps if you're in space and trying to get to a trade authority vendor and don't have access to the Crimson Fleet.
The flight Sim at the vanguard also counts towards ship kills too
I got 2 or 3 cutters im selling
Hey I think a video idea that would be great, companions after you become starborn? Fully explained cause rn I canโt find video on it and low key miss them. Appreciate the videos!
Great Videos, Great Information… Can we get locations to safes we can use to level up in the early game and the best way to do so? To level up lock-picking skills!
This game needs (and i am sure that one will follow, if it isn't already out) a sorting mod. One like Avicii's from Fallout 4 mod repertoire.
the high gain, close proximity, mid bass boost EQ is so intrusive to me ears ๐. anywho. great video. lots of stuff in here that I didn't know. had no idea how to put my weapon away. thanks!
Thanks!! ๐
Lucky, you ned to learn about the terrible BUY BACK UI. You can use it at th Trade Authority to WASH your stolen items. Go to the Trade Authority seller, pick the option, sell your stuff, DONT LEAVE THE SELL SESSION and press G 2x times to be back on the Buy listing of the seller THEN you'll get the BUY BACK option and be able to buy back the item you just sold AT THE PRICE YOU SOLD IT. Because the game doesn't track the items you sold from dialogue session to the other, you need to use the BUY BACK option at the same moment. Unfortunately if you use TAB or ESC you can't roll back from sell to buy lists and then can't use the safety feature. Only when pressing G (or B I have to check and will update), can you switch bavk which is A) moronic B) Pretty undocumented.
Fun fact you can launder your stolen ammo, if you have ammo with that red box, simply sell the stack to the trade authority, and use the buy back feature. Your stolen ammo is now laundered ๐
I heard on another vid that you could sell stolen goods to the Trade Authority, then buy them back, and they would be cleansed. They mentioned you buy them back for the same price…but not sure if that is accurate?
holy heck….this was helpful and no fluff in 16 mis lol – keep it up!
You can redo or do the first uc Vanguard quest once you get to the flight sim you can repeat the flight sim and every kill will count towards pilot skill kills
