One of the unheralded additions to 3.17.2 is the Snake Pit Race Track. This has been an unofficial player race course but CIG has decided to support that part of the community with new structures that help define the ‘roof’ of the track and separate the channels where the course doubled back on itself.
The net improvement in the fun of the race track is huge.
With there likely to be many first-time visitors I decided to create a beginners tour of the track.

Steer with the throttle. Seems like good advice.
Drive it with the throttle? I wonder how well that will go with big rigs like Reclaimer and Starfarer.
I have seen a lot of racers open up the throttle quite a bit on this track.
Cool Guide… racing nights up next. Thx
Never tried racing in SC! Looks like a great race track I'll give it a try and race it with the throttle…
well your going to use a lot of throttle and afterburners on every corner . I think I would crash and burn LOL
This is a nice addition. I am glad CIG is adding cool little things like this. Now to learn to steer with the throttle.
Steering with the throttle and driving like you stole it is the way to go. Thank you for making this Star Citizen video for us Danny.
I'd like to see some small ship derelicts placed around the course… remnants of previous racers who bought the farm.
Speaking of throttles, does anyone have one they suggest? VKB has an upcoming throttle that seems to have the HOTAS community excited, but it also seems to be stuck in development hell.
throttle nice vid Ray
That line "drive it with the throttle" is really true for ground vehicles since they still have very arcadey handling and a binary throttle if you're using mouse and keyboard.
I've never tried steering with throttle before… but I don't tend to do much racing either.
I don't have a throttle, I use dual sticks!
Looks like a fun track to practice throttle control.
Is this posted twice? Well then.. I ll just repeat my comment… Next time drive the hover-bike with the throttle to the max..haha
Love that the channel is growing. I tend to share to our squadron Discord, there are a few SWC racers there and drive it with throttle is a must. XD
love how you're just driving with the throttle xD it's a great tip to steer with the throttle and gas it when you can just to have fun!
Can't wait to see what CIG has in store to go full throttle on!
Guess I'll just park a cutlass red in the middle because if people open up on the throttle I expect quite a few bumbs and tumbles that will need patching up… Or bring a Carrack as a respawn point that can also provide a nice viewing point for spectators.
Throttle control is an important part of racing. Having deft control can be the difference between a good line and a bad one.
I like the implications of future courses, where full throttle can come into play. I also am grateful for making this video of the entire layout.
Has anyone mentioned that now this is podracing yet? Because now this is podracing, Also throttle.
Drive it with the throttle!
Full throttle all the way! Race till the wheels…… ummmm nvm.
Am I supposed to drive with the throttle? 🤔
throttle up buttercup
Always love some full throttle action tbh, keep on keeping on 😀
Heh, once you get it polished try flying it decoupled and REALLY drive with the throttle 😉
This course would seem hard to win without a stick for throttle control…it has so many turns you will need to know exactly where you can open up when to cut back.
Throttle part 2.
This is the one video that I did not comment on, I somehow missed commenting on it… Just about throttled myself when I saw my name wasn't on the list, lol
offroad you will often find yourself driving with the throttle.
Full throttle racing is the best
