—————————————————
The Against All Odds podcast is a true story of one man’s ride through the tainted world of horse racing – a world riddled with greed, corruption, celebrities, drugs, sex and the Mob.
Larry Rolla was a talented, respected trainer who invented new ways to fix aging and injured racehorses. Despite his success, his demons and his association with the Mob both helped and destroyed his life. He was involved with every phase of Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing, seen it all and done it all, learned how to duck and dive and live through it all. He is a unique man whose past most would not survive. More importantly, he was an extremely compassionate guy who took people with damaged lives and helped them as well, if he could. He liked fixing things that needed fixing.

Nice Stories
Could listen to Larry all night what a LEGEND
You won't get a lot of views on this one, because it doesn't include a lot of murder and mayhem. Just mayhem
Thanks!
Love this, no better stories than those from the racetrack and Larry should be in the hall of fame of track stories but what makes them even better, they're all true! I lived some of this from 1968 till 84 when I got out. Bumped into Larry a few times back in those days, even sold him a nag at Club Med which he took to Monticello and did nothing. I did race at Fhld one year and won some races and knew "Mikey Gags" quite well. Got my P license and won my first drive in 1973 with a 3500 clm named Gold Medallion beating Gags in a photo and that winners circle picture still to this day is hanging on my kitchen wall and I look at it often.
Both Larry and I are gettin' a little "Long in the tooth" and Larry's podcasts are keeping these memories alive and well.
Bless you Larry and thank you.
Hey Larry did you ever race in Chicago in the 70s or 80s that where my dad trained standardbreds Larry the best horse my dad ever had was a horse named Craigs Worthy we used Walter Paisley and Daryl Busse and Dave Mcgee Larry I could tell a tell lot stories about raceing back then I was a groom for my dad
Did you know Jeff LaPoff if so any interactions with him

What a memory! God Bless
How did Gagliardi get out of that situation? Stiffing the horse that day may have kept the wolves at bay for the short-term, but that horse still had three owners.
jimmy larry great

George Sadovsky was one of the best guys I ever met. Lonnie was another.
