  1. Well, great video wonderful information on the free camping in Tennessee. You have mentioned the great Rocky Mountain several times in this video in Tennessee I don't know if you caught that and corrected it it is the Great Smoky Mountains and yes there are many black bear in the Great Smoky mountains. Of the Appalachian States Virginia Tennessee are just beautiful States and I hope you find that true in your travel also, safe travels to you. Sincerely, Shay's Ways

  3. It was a pleasure to have met you at Jackson Island, I sadly will be leaving Friday for my new adventure which I believe will be in AL. I hope we run into each other again in our travels, safe journey and God bless.

  4. Bears are everywhere, not just in the smokies. They smell, see and hear you long before you them. Make noise on walks . It is safer to be around other tourists and DO keep your food secure. You mainly want to avoid mama bears with babies

  5. Instead of bear spray get some hornet and wasp spray much cheaper and can shoot as far as 20'. What a gorgeous campsite. Camping next to any body of water is awesome!

  8. Go, to the Smokey s it worth it ,I backpack the 90 miles on the AT and never had a problem..never saw a bear untill I got to Virginia. It is so clean and every precaution is taken in to consideration, most campgrounds have food boxes or cables to hang food, bears are hunted in this area so they are scarce and timmed of humans, I carry bear spray and wasp spray as a defence towards humans .

  10. Hey girl! I love your videos❤Sounds like we have a lot in common. I'm a writer and read a lot too. I am just a part timer now, limited on time and locations. I see you are in the TN area. I'm in KY, and get to surrounding states as much as I can…even though the West is where my soul is. Would love to meet up with you sometime! You'll love the Smoky Mountains. Don't be afraid of the bears, its ok. Happy travels!

  11. The Smokey Mountains are a MUST SEE, so don't be afraid because remember that God protects your every step. Gatlinburg is a beautiful little mountain town that you would LOVE! I fell inlove with that place, especially Cherokee National Forest that's about an hour away. Trust me, you will love it!

  12. Oh, Abiyah! I got so excited when I saw where you were! That is my favorite camp site on Jackson's Island! I live about an hour East of there and go every year at least once. About 3 years ago I found an emaciated kitten in the grass near that site and took him home with me. I will try to attach pics.

  13. It was 4 years ago, lol. I'm so glad you enjoyed staying there. Don't be afraid of the Great Smokey Mountains. I camp there every year, too, and although I've seen some bears, they have never bothered us, even in a tent. Enjoy your travels! God bless!

  14. Thank you for sharing. I'm just so proud of you being Black Queen living the vanlife. Enjoying your videos. Will be so glad to be back in a van. We are in sticks-bricks and I hate it. Vanlifer for about 5 months. We going to be traveling with 2 cats part-time only. This place in this video is breath taking. I hate bears that eat on people so will not be staying the noc where any bears are living for sure. Love your van. We going to try a minivan build I think, not sure with my cats. Thank you again for sharing. Be safe.

  15. Bears don't like the smell of vinegar so anytime you go camping and this Bear area make sure you have some vinegars and spray around your car and spray if you going to cook some meat or stuff make sure you spray some vinegar and you should be safe shalom
