Space Engineers Surviving Mars Ep2: Building A Drilling Machine

hi everyone. In this 2nd episode I’m going to build a drilling machine that can be fully customisable and perfect for the beginning of the new world.
It does take a while to build it, however with further customisations like you will see in the next episode, this thing can produce as many resources as you would want. Technically this thing can be turned into an atmospheric mobile base in space engineers.

  1. Hello there fellow engineer. If you ever have any questions on a way to do something e.g calculate thrust to weight ratio. I have around 1k hours and im here to help. Have fun engineering in the vast place known as space… – reposted

  2. Quick tip if there is a lightning storm a decoy and a welder to repair that decoy is a good tip. As itle stop you from being struck as lightning targets decoys…

Also when finding cobalt or other ores zoom out with your camera and look for white patches on the ground it has a higher chance to be found. Ure wrather lucky you found that cobalt node… as they tend to be rare….

Do wheels for a mining vehicle and use the turret controller and an arm with pistons and a drill and you can use that to mine with. Its really effective its what I do. Use an advanced rotor to transer materials..

If you need some more tips let me know. Also would be amazing if you went live so i can help you ans give you tips live 🙂

  3. To calculate thrust to weight ratio devide the weight by how much force all the thrusters on that 1 side makes. Its wise to produce 2x as much thrust to your weight. If the number is in the negatives it wont lift. 0.5 means itle lift another half of the current weight of the ship
