Sheep Farming Vlog: Making Sheep Feeders

Today at Ewetopia Farms, we start with feeding sheep and morning chores and then continue with making sheep feeders. Once the first batch were welded together, it was all about getting the barn prepped and moving the feeders back into the barn and reconfiguring them all.

Sheep and sheep farming is our passion and we hope that the love we have for what we do is obvious to you the viewers. Our operation is a large scale, registered Suffolk and Poll Dorset sheep farm combining the best of pasture and confinement to manage the flock for maximum comfort, minimal stress, and producing a consistent, very high quality product. Our focus is on providing breeding stock for sale to other sheep producers. All our sheep are treated with the utmost compassion which I think will become evident as you join us on our daily rounds on our working sheep farm in eastern Ontario, Canada.

I hope you enjoy this video. If you would like to follow along with us and experience life on a real live sheep farm on a daily basis, please subscribe so that you don’t miss a single episode!

Thank you for taking the time to watch! We love to hear from you so be sure to leave a comment as well.

Thank you!

  1. Hi Lynn & Arnie I wanted to recommend a young woman farmer who is a cow farmer who works full time but her dad had a accident & was left in a wheelchair so he didn’t have to give up on his dream, she has taken over her name & YouTube channel is Karen Moynihan she is in Ireland but I thought I would share her channel to try & help her out because she works full time & on the farm for her dad , thank you for another brilliant video 😘😘😘

  2. I read a science research article I CANT remember the name of it but that ram's have favorite ewe's that they mate with more then the others and prefer over the others as well and how ram's DON'T really do well in extremely hot conditions because their count goes down, I remember a couple of months ago you said that, Felon, Might NOT be doing well because he had a couple of open ewe's so you weren't too sure about him in your future lineup, Hopefully everything goes good this year for you guy's Another amazing video as always Lynn 💚💕💛

  3. Gosh i feel for you both! It looks so hard to do these jobs by yourselves, poor Arnie, hope he got a good back rub after that! 🙂 Take care of yourselves and thanks for these vlogs, I really look forward to them. 💕💕💕

  4. That looked like an exhausting day for you both!! Your yard looks beautiful Lynn!! I know Arnie will be happy for the feeder alterations to be finished. Arnie is meticulous with his work and the end result always looks great! I think Gimili was warning Knockout that he would "knock him out" if he kept sniffing his girls!😂🐑 Leonard's trim looks beautiful!!!! He's such a gorgeous ram!! Thanks for sharing your day with us and stay safe!!!

  5. I know the rams don't know the extra work you did to keep them safe and comfortable, but it will give you piece of mind. I saw something on another vlog (not sheep farmers) that pumpkins and pumpkin seeds are a natural dewormer for cows. I was curious to see if it was safe and beneficial for sheep. I found out it is! The only thing is that you have to cut the pumpkin up more for sheep since they only have bottom teeth. (or maybe just grind the seeds up a bit and top off their normal feed) They did say not to go crazy and feed it too frequently or sheep may bloat. Who knew? We always fed ours to the pigs.

  6. Hello Arnie and Lynn, I looked up online and found Premier 1 has sheep marking fluid in many colors. I hope this info helps. I just want to say that both of you are very hard working people and I’m sure all your subscribers recognize that. Bye for now dear friends

  7. I would be a perfectionist too. Leveling and measuring is virtuous. High five Arnie. You’ll look at it in the future with pride. 😊 You should see me setting up my craft show booths. 😂
Lynn, you sound melancholy today. Hope you’re doing well. 😊

  8. Omg same, everyone checking for dead sheep. They do plan 101 ways to die every single friggen day🤣I just love how Katie zooms through the hay feeder. I like Ben and Max but I’m in love with Katie girl💗such a smart wise girl. Yes rolling bales may be keeping Arnie in shape but if he ever has a sick day I’m not sure you will like bale rolling🤣we use big rounds too and I end up forking it off until I can start rolling it. It’s possible but not extremely fun. I definitely need to find an old cow brush and put it up on posts, would make my shedders really happy. I put one brush on the wall but they won’t rub on it. They rub on gates but that roller brush might be the real deal for our flock. We bought some used veno gates but gosh they are noisey, Arnie is definitely in his element with his welding. Love the mangers. Arnie needs to patent his design😉thanks for sharing. I can’t imagine how much time is involved with editing and uploading. Take care and some day we are going to visit when it slows down here on the farm.

  9. Good afternoon Arnie and Lynn. Back from visiting my sister in Minnesota. Bet you missed my long winded talks but I did watch the videos late at night. I absolutely loved you short with Gladiator on your shirt and Gladiator standing by you so proud. He melts my heart every time. Arnie did such a great job with his night time feeding and his conversation with us. You two are definite rock stars. I see the breeding groups are getting their air conditioning. So nice to see everyone is perky. Boy pushing that bale is quite the job. Leonard was such a good boy for his trimming. Love that scratching brush. You can almost hear them say ahhh that feels good. Boy those feeders are some heavy dudes for sure Arnie does such a wonderful job with constructing and fixing things on the farm. Good catch on the feeder Lynn. Thank you so much for the videos they were awesome. Blessings and big big hugs to you both. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

  10. Another great video, Lynn! I would bet money that guys who spend hours in the gym trying to muscle up couldn’t roll a 1000-pound bale of hay as fast as Arnie does. 😄 The feeders are a work of art! You both work so hard. 💚
