In this video we check out another god mod for Shadows of Forbidden Gods – The Living Void! It's a good one folks! DEFINITELY worth getting in my opinion!
Thanks for watching! 🙂
sounds fun probably i'll try soon.
Thanks for the review!
The main use of Enervate is to pounce on people, but yeah, there's not much use for it early. Either for killing Orc upstarts or defending your Hungry Rifts from heroes w/ a Might Agent; its def more usefl late but i'm not sure what'd take its place. Consume Heat does need some balancing though; earlier it was very OP and just a few uses could outright wipe out a settlement. Odds are I over-nerfed it.
5 Sanity for the Erode is for the 3 voidstones. Most people don't have more than 15. But maybe 7 per is a good sweet spot, just to seal the deal, and I like some of the power ideas.
And yep, the god's very P/M intensive; the shadow helps reduce the profile and menace of expanding rifts, but managing it was something I intended to be a core struggle. 4 power refund is a bit low, but if you get a few ruptures you can blow up the world… rather fast, as the awakening is meant to be your victory lap after a difficult game setting up.
Yeah, I'm not too happy with a lot of the power spread. I just got ideas for 'voidy powers' and I slotted them in regardless of how well they meshed together, and there's a few powers that mesh with other gameplay styles but not each other – for instance, giving rulers voidstones to drive them mad in a more intrigue-focused game where you don't worry as much about making vacuum collapse strong.
"Throwing agent after agent into the grind" – Haha, I feel that. Pretty much all my test games with the god ended in "Oh god just get this last rift matured, random bullshit go!"
The CO tries to close it, but it's the same cooldown timer as stuff like Redeem Soveriegn; I usually just park the Survivor in the tundra and throw rocks at 'em.
(If you haven't, I recommend trying out the god's Holy Order tenet!)
Thanks for the tweaks, I'll definitely take the numbers on Expand Rift into consideration! Maybe I could make it a channeled challenge that happens every turn. And I could prob repurpose Enervate to that 'delay hero sealing rift' power.
It's been a while since I last tried this god and it looks to have changed a bit.
One thing I remember was that rulers were way too in to creating Reality Anchors before there was any reason to. Like by the time I'd infiltrated a place that I'd be interested in putting a stone in I'd get a notice a few turns later that one had gone up. Generally by the time I'd opened any rifts there would be 2-3 siphoning them away as fast as my agents could prop them up. One time I remember I took too long with a faith spreading awareness and my first rift had eight eating away at it.
If you're going for creating rifts it seems highly recommended to find a decent sized religion and have an agent become the Prophet. That way you can more easily get them into the negatives and have them start turning every temple they have into a rift that gets a growth bonus from worshipers. Even better if said temple has a geomantic locus to eat too.
definetely looks like my type of gamestyle, also with geomancy and loci.
When I tried this god aware leaders were building reality anchors like mad. looks like it has been touched up since and ready for another look. I did get the idea that a small Dark Empire as a place to rest up and hire knights could be a big help with all the fighting so may as well test that while I am at it.
I love your content but I'm finding the background music a little loud. Is it just my headphones?
Thanks for posting this Sir. SFG. I've really been enjoying your videos.
idea for an agent. they have ability to send items by undergrounds means to your other agents
Honestly, biggest criticism for this god? Setup. After you get one matured rift I think that’s where the snowball is supposed to start, but until then when it comes to how long it takes you to set up that first rift, you had best hope that your agents didn’t skip leg day, because they are hiking in order to get those voidstones.
Second Suggestion.
If the creator doesn’t want to get rid of that setup I would honestly replace enervate with a power that generates 2 or 3 inert or temporary voidstones that agents can pick up in random locations on the map. I also think this power should scale just like with Iastur’s infiltration ability but that’s just my impression after failing a lot of times and then getting a win(you know the usual method of testing). Anyways, if the creator finds this, thank you for the fun times and the even funner god!

I gotta try this thing out. Easily my favorite god aestetically out if all the modded and unmodded ones, except maybe Ophanim
Haven't watched the video yet, but I suggest making it more clear in the title that it's a mod.
