I thought if a bus even seen a train, they’d have to stop and wait but I must be wrong.. Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad ELS 501 and 502 headed south with 4 Alter Metal gondolas and 12 loaded LP Smart Siding center-beams, all bound for Green Bay, WI.

  1. By regulations and rules set for motor vehicle companies operating in New Brunswick, any bus must stop at all rail crossings, open door to see if clear and cross. if there is a train they are to wait till passes. by my reasoning the driver is in trouble.

  2. I don't know if it matters as to whether or not any kids are on the bus. You should contact the local school system and report this issue, and they should determine what should happen to the driver. If my kid was on that bus, I would hope someone would report it. While you're at it, you should find out what the protocol is for RR crossings.

  3. I used to drive School Bus in Ontario Canada. We have to activate the hazard lights (4-way flashers), STOP, LOOK, OPEN THE DOOR AND DRIVER'S WINDOW, LISTEN, and go when it was safe to do so. In my opinion, this was a safe move by the bus driver. I did not notice if he opened the door or not.

  4. Everyone's watching
To see what you will do
    Everyone's looking
    At you

Using my super forensics skills, I've determined there was at least one passenger on board, midway back. Slowed down to 0.25 speed, 1080p, zoomed in tight, when the tinted windows pass between camera and white building.

  5. As a former school bus driver I understand that driver if you understand sarcasm. No that school bus driver is completely in the wrong thanks for taking us to county O to finish out the video one of these day's and years in our lifetime that pole will be fixed 😂

  6. I hope you reported that bus driver. A school bus has to come to a complete stop, opening the doors and looking both ways to ensure that a train isn't coming before crossing. And there's a stop sign there! What the heck!?

  7. I wasn't expecting the bus to take off like that in front of the train, even if the train was going slowly. I have worked a job close to a crossing on a branch line that's sees trains approximately 2-3 days a week, depending on what the customers up that line need. Some apartments are nearby and school buses almost always stopped at the crossing, with the buses' lights flashing like it was a regular school bus stop for kids. There's only one exception I can note, but I'm not sure if it had kids on board as it went by quickly. And only once as of this posting did a train pass while a bus was there. The branch line has been on deferred maintenance for a long time and is restricted to around 10mph.

  8. Just in case anyone’s wondering, this video has been forwarded to the owners of the company. They have been in contact and said they will be dealing with this matter personally. It is totally unacceptable that that driver went in front of that train

  9. My brother drives school bus and says you are quite correct about the bus stopping. The bus is supposed to stop with the door open until the train passes. Cool video, thanks Jason!
