Man oh man I've missed every single storm crystal along the way cause the lightning was way off in the distance and the storm had stopped by the time I've gotten close to it so I've been jumping all over trying to find an extreme weather planets with 0 luck so that pirate system is just what I've been needing to finish up this expedition
Another tip attack every freighter you see and get the upgrade units and pass all the build quests as soon as you get 5 or 6 salvage data..also i started out with an s class frigate wtf?and i quicker way to repair the thing us with the repair kits you get for the first quest👍
Only thing I want from the Expedition is the Freighter lmao.
i never got anything for the last mileston for pirates. thats kinda lame.
world i spawned in on had lots of chlorine rocks. sold a few artifacts for money, got a ton of oxygen and just sold like 8 stacks of the shit for a about 200 mil. never worried about money after that
strange that you dont just hold S during combat instead of doing this slow turning thing you are doing.
I've done two playthroughs now and I watched your first speedrun recon mission the other day so I don't really need this info, I just love your videos! Great work as always.
Stuck doing the fleet expeditions right now. Have all the future ones done that don't involve travel. I'd say the biggest tip for me would be to start expeditions ASAP, however you get them done. Recruiting 8 frigates wasn't too bad thanks to player bases with mineral farms. Supplied plenty of credits needed. Thanks to all the base builders out there, especially the Happy Gek bases, which were very well made and always useful!
How are we supposed to get cadmium? Dismantling upgrades can't be how hg intended us to obtain it but I see no other way without cheating to some degree or destroying precious upgrades. This seems like a glaring oversight on their part.
I duped all key resources
Do I have to create a new game to do the polestar expedition or can I use my current character? Also, if I can, is there a button I need to press on or is it automatically I am in it?
Can confirm that shits go missing in the refiner. I lost like a couple mill worth of chlorine
Another way to get magnetized ferrite, when your frigates are idle, you can land on them like you would when repairing them, and they'll give you some goods based on their type (not sure what the cooldown is). Industrial frigates give you about 100 magnetized ferrite.
Hey Xaine 🙂I bought 8 frigates, so sent out a single frigate on the 5 missions, 2 were short but 3 were over 20 hours, the longest was 28 hours lol. I debriefed 3 of them the following day and sent out 3 more missions and debriefed those and the previous 2 on the 2nd day which ended the Expedition for me, it also handed me the blueprint for the Dream Aerial which was a happy surprise 🙂
I see they still haven't fixed the Requested Operation arrow graphic XD Maybe one day :')
Anybody has this bug? In normal mode I place the command fleet terminal and they keep disappearing. 🤷♂️
My refiner bugged out and gave me 1600 nanintes each time I clicked on it. Then there was the time it bugged and filled with 8000 tainted metal…. I was not short on nannites that expedition.
Just knowing the refiner recipes in general is a good rule of thumb. Extremely useful in normal play, not just expeditions
What I'm noticing is people seem to be taking their time, I burned through it with a 7 hours and 40 minutes playtime.
Do you happen to know if there anyway to finish the hospitality mission if you dont have ps+ ??
Glad to see someone's telling people how to do the frigate missions efficiently without using the abandon exploit. It's not hard or painful at all (unless you're speed running… but that's a completely different style of play built around exploitation, regular play should be trying for the intended experience). I buy two frigates as soon as possible to get up to three and send them out on the three shortest missions (2 are probably just an hour, 1 probably a bit longer). Do expedition stuff for an hour, collect the short missions and send them out on the remaining two. Log out and come back later, because you need to wait for the mission board to get new missions anyways. Collect the missions, send out the last three you need on the shortest missions available. Do the rest of the expedition. If you do buy a fourth and the missions shoot up (including ones in progress), you can always undo that by dismissing it.
farm sentinel kills with salvaged glass, and sell the sentinel upgrades for nanites in space stations
I wish expeditions weren't so god damn pointless, otherwise I might be inclined to put in the time
For money I just set up a couple refiner rooms(you gotta build one anyway) and throw in chlorine and oxygen and just go system to system buying all the oxygen, 1CH+1O=6CH so just fill ur shit with chlorine and find a system that sells it, crash their stock and buy it back and repeat
The no mans sky community is awesome.
In the starting system, a base called “first stop” has a lot of stuff to give you a big start.
Finished mine in 8 hours 46 minutes of gametime (of course had to waiting 15 hours irl for the frigate expeditions to complete lol) I made soooooooo many mistakes, wish I waited a tad to see this video before starting, but glad I saw it nonetheless! Thanks Xaine
In the 3rd Rendezvous system (Kotanab-Awa) there is an Erupting planet (Eginal Z45) that has Storm Crystals and Curious Deposits of Runaway Mould.
Knowing your refiner recipes can absolutely make or break a playthrough. I'm to the point where I can quickly manufacture some resources faster than I can buy or mine them.
I found out the hard way about the buggy refiner. I lost about 500 chromatic metal:-(
I can’t believe YouTube is still recommending No Man’s Lie videos to me. The scam that just won’t go away.
This whole expedition is No Man's Stargate Universe – complete with a crew who have no idea how the ship works and a Captain who's forced to adapt on the fly
And I LOVE it xD
finished the entire expedition in 8 or 9 hrs =D
# Since you'll need Cadmium, Deuturium, and Wiring kits anyway… Hit the anomaly and buy 4 C-class Pulse Engine modules from Iteration Ares. Install then destroy them for the materials.
# As soon as you exit your freighter, be looking for a group to swap visits for the achievement that gives 5 million units, all 16 glyphs, and Atlas pass 3.
While you do, look for the capital freighters near the station and blow their cargo modules for goods worth a few hundred thousand. Escape the ships sent to stop you buy flying into another freighter (or your own) … piracy 101.
# Since you then have the glyphs, pop out and grab a crashed ship worth using the slot upgrades the achievements keep giving you… like the crashed guppy exotic at …face, bird, galaxy, bug, sunset, balloon, rocket, eclipse, bug, sunset, bug, bug…
# check the anomaly regularly. The new adjustments and missions mean it isn't unusual to find ???? missions with objects that sell for 4 million units. .. tho I notice the 15 wiring kit missions appear less frequently, but that could just be my luck.
After 6 years I started again NMS (obviously losing all that i had before,Platinum on PS4 and lots of stuff big base et cetera) game has changed so much now it's grindy as fuck like the shitty Elite Dangerous, and specially at beginning making money it's a pain and everything costs millions….not a good change in my opinion.
Hey xaine, thanks for the tips, very helpful!
Other tips: visit all planets in your first system and scan plants, animals and rocks. You need a bunch of those for an achievement. Scanning all (25) animals will give 125 faecium as reward too.
For those who completed the first expedition: you can call in the anomoy after your first jump. Pick up the Golden Vector and you find that ship does have a hyperdrive. If possible, also pick up the Normandy and the living frigtare if you have that: free extra frigates!
Try to get the mining upgrade asap, so you can farm running mould for nanites. You need a lot of those to be able to recruit 3 pilots.
Check the Nexus missions too for rewards you can use (nanite, freighter modules etc)
Alternative way to get money in the bank: try to get more than 1 s-class scanupgrade and keep scanning everything. Thenyou can get a over milion units on each planet. Also, don't forget to upload discoveries.
hi, i would much appreciate ur opinion on 1 question: when refining salt or cobalt, should i use oxygen at that point or should i save my oxygen to only refine chlorine/ionised cobalt ? and by the way, u just got a new subscriber 👍
I scraped ships and had 12 million units and 1,500 nanites in about two hours. I also shot lots of freighter storage pods for frigate fuel, chromatic metal, nanites and Uranium. From there, I wasn't wanting anything as I progressed through the expedition. I was skunked on a multitool until phase 4 when I finally got an S-class rifle.
I was caught out in previous expeditions by time restricted quests.
This expedition been far better due to the longer time and somehow spotting it earlier than usual.
Expeditions are by far my favourite way to play NMS but their timetabling has almost universally lined up with my low availability to play NMS
Oxygen/indium refining have saved/Nadeem a fortune on this as event.
The refiners seem designed to purge resources when you leave the frigate in another system tho (way too consistent for it to be a big, feels way more like an anti afk/farm mechanism) so I have taken to refining in batches when I grab lunch, go bio or will be afk for a few mins. Stick a stack of oxygen/indium(blue resource non activated version) into a few refiners, do my thing, pick up the combines later before saving then moving out.
Anything left on ship when exploring MAY re-appear later but I lost 10-16 refiner loads before doing this.
NEVER leave items refining no when away from freighter/base unless you can afford to replace them or better yet have a big enough seed batch stored that the inevitable loss won’t cripple your refining income.
