  1. In an effort to avoid this comment popping up over and over, Joel does not have military experience. People are mistaking the "operation desert storm" logo on Tommy's truck with Joel having served. Tommy picks Joel and Sarah up in the morning, its his truck, its only slightly confusing because Joel is driving the truck after the outbreak begins. The producers have already discussed Joel having no military service. However Tommy did, and you can assume he taught Joel a bit during their time together.

Who wins this fight, and under what circumstances? Let me know your thoughts below! Special thanks to TheChadChamp and Tylearn for help with The Walking Dead section. Check out their channels below.

  2. My vote goes to Joel Miller; because he's been surviving the zombie apocalypse for over twenty years, and has military training – and doesn't hesitate to use deadly when the situation calls for it.

  3. Rick won't kill Joel in a fist fight he'd try to use the old Naruto talk no justu and Joel would spring on Rick and kill him you even say in your video that Rick doesn't like to kill people even against Negan and The Governor. Joel wins hands down its dirty but in a fight like that Joel gets the W.

  4. The fireflies are cargocultists who believe making brain slurry from out of the immune and injecting themselves will make them immune- every Firefly facility in game that received an immune was immediately overrun because their "cure" cannonically just gives you the infection. Joel killed those cannibal cultists where they stood and the world is a better place for it. May they never kidnap another immune child so they commit ritualistic group suicide again.

  5. I agree with your assessment, Joel from the show is showing the signs of his age, that’s even a plot point, Rick however, being a bit younger, has an amazing physical condition, there is an episode of TWD in which Rick had to escape an upcoming hoard of walkers with a RV but it broke, next scene we see him returning home running, he basically ran a whole marathon, while Joel was getting gassed out climbing some stairs.

  6. I love Rick's character. Stopped watching after he left. But Joel would fucking merc that dude with ease. As much of a badass as Rick was, Joel is even more. Joel is not a push over like Rick. Just sayin'. And I like both characters.

  7. I'm sorry but Rick ain't winning shit. Joel is bigger, stronger, faster, smarter, and he's ruthless.

You should have used Joel's feats from the game. Rick has 5+seasons worth of content/feats regardless Joel is still much more of a tank. Joel does what Rick does with groups of people and often days of planning by himself.

Scenario 1: if they're basically in a street fight, I'll honestly put my money on Joel. If he grapples with Rick it's over.

Scenario 2: If they're in a neutral battlefield with similar weapons and they start with say 20m distance. Joel is disappearing like Batman. He probably domes Rick while he starts trying to talk it out.

"We don't have to do this, you could join us." Headshot

Rick is honestly no joke but he does better in a group setting imo.

  8. I admit that I've only watched the Walking Dead, and only know that I do about The Last of Us from YouTube and osmosis. But I think of Rick as a wild dog. He's insane, unpredictable and will do whatever he had to do to survive, even if it means reluctantly licking someone's hand, as it were, before biting it when the time is right (I know, my German shepherd bit me a couple weeks ago over some food!). Over nearly a decade, Grimes not only fought battles against hundreds of walkers at a time and also commandeered countless settlements, but also led small armies at times to do so. He's far from perfect, but from what I can tell he had more practical experience over a much longer time in the actual wilderness, though I could be won't about that. It might not have worked out for Rick in the end, but I think his situation required more risks and variables; working with so many people, he'd need to deal with more unpredictable outcomes outside his control. I'm sure it's not easy for Joel during the story, but it seems like Rick had to accomplish more over many years himself. Bottom line, Rick was never able to settle and all he would have ever wanted was a quarantine zone that could possibly last 20 years. Most couldn't last more than a few months…

  9. Rick is tactical and skilled when it comes to fighting slow/dumb walkers. The real threat has been people in these shows. Joel wins because he shoots first and asks questions later. I have only seen Rick do this a few times in the show. Joel is comfortable with ending anyone who appears to be a threat to Ellie or himself. Rick has always been about saving others and spends too much time trying to figure out situations. Although Joel is injured, I think he eliminates Rick within seconds of their first encounter.

  10. Rick wins! I've seen too much of Rick's bad-assery, whereas Joel's only showed that a couple of times so far. Rick's thinking on the fly is so good, I just keep thinking of the time he got trapped in a house with that "Claim" group & he had to kill some, evade & escape the house. I wish they could make Joel as iconic as Rick, but having played TLOU games, we already know he won't last long. Also, I wonder if they didn't make Joel fall on the rebar like in the game, because it's too similar to how Rick's last episode on TWD.

  11. Yeah Rick got this easily. He might take some battle wounds, but crazy people are FUCKING dangerous. I look at it like this. In Dragon Ball Z, the main villains are Frieza, Buu, and Cell. Frieza and Cell were dangerous and very powerful, but BUU? His chaos was what made him so much worse than the both of them, to the point that Goku had to literally destroy the evil in Buu to get rid of him.

While Rick and Joel aren't planet busters by any means lol, Rick is a monster when it comes to fighting for what he wants. I could never see Joel legitimately wade through his "zombies" and come out covered in blood but unscathed the way that Rick has. Man's is on another level.

Look at it this way…which one would you want on your team if you're going zombie hunting?

  12. So this video was basically a semi-equal stats match-up, taking feats and statements into account, but not really in terms of tiers but more as just references? Also, given these characters are both fictional I personally don't feel like simply discounting feats because "it is meant to be like the real world" is valid, as the same arguments could be made to say characters like certain movie Batman are just peak humans despite feats that go against that, as well as action movie characters. All that being said, good video as always.
