When Twin Peaks was airing I was dating the most beautiful girl in my town, but I would use an excuse to leave her, to go and watch Twin Peaks. That says it all !
4:12 when I was young, I heard that David filmed Kyle, as some sort of alterEgo. I even heard that Kyle was a young version of David. I thought NO BUEY!
Holy crap. I just found this shit out. I will never forget "The Grandmother" 1969. We are slowly losing our current, most abstract artists. Once Harmony Korine, Guy Maddin and Gaspar Noe are gone? Abstract films will be no more. Officially.
Have to admit, Naomi Watts earned an instant level of respect for working on Mulholland Drive and giving herself over to that role. I don't know if it was an Oscar winning performance, but looking back, just being there was kind of like getting an Oscar. That movie was strange as hell, but admirable. A true Hollywood dark fantasy.
Greame O'Neil…I love your coverage of stars, but lately I see your eyes and they seem heavy… sad. We love your work❤ I hope your ok buddy. Sending love and respect from Southern California ❤
I've been watching retrospects on David Lynch, the man and the movies. His death has touched me so deeply. Sad day, the world has lost a unique and strange individual. God speed.
3:11 Kyle is refering here to "Dune" : it was his first film with David Lynch and it was indeed the "first and last big budget movie" of the genius who gave us masterpieces of modern cinema like "Blue Velvet", "Lost Highway" or "Mulholland Drive"… Anyway, he was my favorite living director for more than 35 years and I will never forget how he changed my view on the world, art, people, I mean, everything !!! RIP dear David…
I love all of Lynch's movies, Eraserhead is just the best weirdest movie ever. He is also born in my hometown, Missoula Montana. Missoula loves David Lynch, sorry to see him pass.
Thanks for such a concise little nugget of response to the devastating news of Mr Lynch's passing. I wish that we as a planet could all do something collectively on (what would have been) his birthday tomorrow, the 20th of January to celebrate him and how he has touched so many of our lives in such a brilliant way. Peace.✌🍩☕
I cant stop crying, he died on my birthday and I love him so much, he was my number one director since twin peaks. Im so heart broken. I love you Gordon.
3:07 Kyle is talking about Dune.
I can't understand a word you said…slow DOWNNNNNNNNNN
Wtf is this?
Wow, This is really wonderful. Thank you for sharing it. ❤🧡❤
Hands down the best filmmaker since 70s.
Gonna rewatch his top 5 movies again.
Eraserhead
Elephant Man
Blue velvet
Lost Highway
Mul Drive
If I want to binge David Lynch, where do I start? I only have seen The Elephant Man and The Straight Story.
Loved his work.
I don't think anyone cannot replicate his style and storytelling.
Gordon cole drinks coffee with jeffries in black lodge
Wonderful tribute Derek ❤️
Lol. Canadian goofball thinks Kyle was talking about Blue Velvet and not Dune. Embarrassing.

The “big budget” film Kyle was talking about is DUNE. Blue Velvet was two years later and had a very small budget.
In fact, Lynch had to personally take a pay cut after filming started to get the producers would leave him alone.

Goodbye, David. There will be no replacing you…
This was beautiful.
Imagine a world of images and imagination.

The host here reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite
I think he was referring to 1984s Dune. Not blue velvet
I will miss him. I have been an admirer since Eraserhead. What a beautiful and fun Artist.

He will be sorely missed ❤️

Never heard of this guy. Don't see what the big deal is.
No, that was Dune. Kyle was cast in Dune first. Right?

You made a mistake. When Kyle McLaughlin says he plucked him to make his first and last big budget movie he’s talking about DUNE.
