Jesse and Mike review the 2022 Ski-Doo Mach Z after 4000 kms. After changing the carbides and perfecting the front-end setup, the sled handled way better around the corners. They speak about Smart Shox, front-end handling, engine performance and disappointments, the comfort seat, and much more!

  1. Did you guys see the newest speedwerx video? Sidewinder vs VR 1 boost, we need to put the 4 strokes away as far as sledding is concerned,im older and still wouldn't give up my two strokes even with all that Xtra oil and maintenance! The Fun factor is just to different between the 4 strokes and 2 strokes..for the enthusiast who loves to cook trails there is no comparison. And a lot of people only have a possible 90 days of riding! Possible 😂😂 Thanks for the videos and get rid of that authoritarian meatball you have running your country, hopefully down here we can do the same….

  2. Skidoo dropped the ball with the Mach Z. It should’ve been the 1200 with a turbo. Just one season only limited production motor that would’ve put the sidewinder to bed.

  3. Love the looks of this sled, but it would not work in our area of riding. We have a lot of turns in our trails and no wide open long straights since we are in the hills. We also have a speed limit (not that we always abide 🙂 ) at 45 mph. Environmental Police will not pull us over if we're doing 50 mph, but any higher, they pull us over. The plus side, tickets do not effect our driver's license, the negative side, paying $$ for the ticket.

Over all, I liked your review!! It will be nice when the borders are open freely again for travel between US and our Canadian brothers.

  4. That's one thing I hate about my gen4 is the seat. I was looking at the seat that the mach comes with stock but I am glad u guys said that Seat sucks. I found and after market seat that is 1.5 inches higher than stock and 1 inch wider.

  6. I am surprised you even ran the Mach as a trail sled without upgrading the torsions. The stock torsions are for lake runs, keeping the track angle optimized for speed. From a handling standpoint, your setup was way off with so much squat in the rear end. Add to that, backpack gear and fuel, the foot runners must have been dragging on the ground. I do agree, BRP missed the mark; they squatted the sled for speed, they added launch mode and then they forgot to make the engine fast. I have 6500 miles on mine, mostly Quebec. I love everything about it except the heavy steering, I cannot get the right balance of precision versus steering effort.

  7. So, a good friend of mine, who has always been a Yamaha/ Cat guy, asked me a year ago, what to buy. Now, just so you know, finances aren’t an issue here… He wanted my option between the Mach Z, And SRX. I told him to order both, try them, and then choose. He Loved the ride and handling of the Mach, butfelt it was somewhat underpowered compared to the Yamaha. Late in the year, his last ride actually, he realized it had “sportmode”!!! I think we have a new Doo fan!!

  8. I don’t care what the doubters say… when you put everything together, suspension, engines, ergos, mileage…. whatever , you’re not going to beat BRP… However, kudos to the competitors. Polaris makes a great mountain sled… Yamacat makes a nice starter sled too.

  9. Very honest review guys, which we now expect from the Sledaddicz! I would agree regarding the seat, it should have been at least 1" higher and not quite so soft. I was very happy with the new cable throttle control, not perfect like a 850, but happy to live with it. Not having to worry about 2 stroke engine blow up (generally speaking), or carrying oil, is well worth a few compromises!

  10. Guys come on, you spend a good 5 minutes going over how dissapointing the engine is, the power output is weaksauce and theres terrible turbo lag, but then call it "the best four stroke we've driven".

lol wut? Have you driven an SRX?

Skidoo would have done the Mach Z name justice if they made this thing a solid 200hp from the factory, 180 isnt going to cut it IMHO and the name MachZ is worthy of more go-juice and exclusivity.

  11. Surprisingly, a 2022 Yamaha SRX is 75lbs lighter than this Mach Z with a dry weight of 475 vs 550. I'm not really sure where ski-doo has all that extra weight. It puts the Yamaha even lighter than a 850 E-tec. Also another interesting thing is that a Renegade 900 Turbo R 180HP is nearly the identical sled to a Mach Z but also comes in 25lbs lighter. So the real question is. What the hell is in the Mach Z to make it so heavy?

  12. This is why I went back to two-stroke was on 4 stroke for 10 years and said I would never go back to a 2 stroke but road a buddy's and went back to a two and now I don't feel beat after a 10 hr day.
