Resident Evil Has A Re:Verse Problem

Unprompted video about how astoundingly mid Re:Verse is because I cant stop thinking about it and making a video makes the thoughts go away.

  1. Unironically – Resident Evil 6 has better multiplayer PVP modes.

It's sad that besides that the only decent online resi died with the PS2.
You'd think that in the age of constant remakes and remasters they would re-release both outbreak games for easy gain but… no? They went with… this?

Resident evil is a series that works in cycles – it always starts off great then keeps going downhill while capcom execs are spending all they earn on drugs until they hit rock bottom and do a soft reboot – like with 4, or 7 or whatever and do the whole cycle all over again.
We're currently in the cocaine snorting phase of the cycle.
Another soft reboot in about 5 years.

  2. The only real playable multiplayer games related to Resident Evil are Outbreak#1 and #2. They were great. But no, let's do ReVerse, let's do Resistance.

No players within 2 weeks. That's sad.

  3. I love how bad Capcom is at multi-player it's so good. They just need a different company working on these side games that can produce quality products and services before they make the next mercenaries game mode

  4. My biggest issue with Capcom is why they think VS. content is what RE fans want from the series. If they absolutely have to have a multiplayer component co-op would be the way to go, the Outbreak games are RIPE for remakes in the RE engine.

  5. Icarus must not have played the same RE3 remake that I did! RE2 had some stumbles, but was overall a great remake. RE3 cut out half the game, and severely changed half of what it kept, then added nothing new.

  6. You know what RE multiplayer game was actually decent
and they have, but won't remaster or remake?
    their Outbreak series.
As a remake make the gameplay be like between RE 2&3 remake
with Outbreak's gameplay elements, but with optional options with the virus timer
or maybe a different function of it.

  7. I'd be way more into the remakes if they treated the VAs decently. And I'd be way more interested in 7/8/9(?) if they'd put in the effort to write a half decent story. RE1-4 have half decent stories. They know how to do it, they just don't care to anymore. From 5 on the main games have been hack work. Abysmally awful writing. Like, Shadows of Rose has to be one of the most insultingly stupid stories I've ever subjected myself to. I don't even know why they're bothering to shoehorn multiplayer into the mix. It's not what the games are about, or for. But I guess it's where the industry thinks the money is these days.

  8. Most of the reason these multiplayer RE games are so shit is that Capcom proper aren't even handling it themselves, it's a fairly new Taiwanese studio they're being farmed out to!
If Capcom could just get their heads out of their arse's and remember they had a RE multiplayer game that was good (OUTBREAK). They could've taken all the wasted money from these last few multiplayer abominations and remake Outbreak, but I guess that would cost too much money compared to crapping out this cash grab….

PS. I though Operation Raccoon City was okay, kinda bland at it's worst. Umbrella Corps on the other hand, that was ABSOLUTE SHIT!

  9. deffo gonna disagree on the remakes being master class. Re2 remake was good but suffered from the zapping system being lazy and tacked on. Re3 was just bad all around. 7 had poor characters and unskippable cutscenes that make it a nightmare for replays. 8 brought back those boring characters and I will admit made Ethan a little better. But they introduced all these new enemey characters and killed them all of in the same game. Just my take on it.

  10. Why don't they just make a pve horde mode or a l4d style game where you have to go from one end of the map to the other with limited resources kinda like 4th survivor in RE2. I mean the best multiplayer experiences the franchise has offered so far were the RE5 & 6 co-op modes. I just don't think RE works in a pvp formula.

  11. Mr. Icarus what are your thoughts on the Evil Dead singleplayer is it worth playing if you aren't going to go online. I will be getting it next Thursday thanks to Epic giving it away in their free game of the week. I have been wanting to check this game out for awhile being a huge fan of The Evil Dead universe

  12. When i bought Resident Evil Village gold edition for ps5 because I wanted a physical copy 2 things disappointed the hell out of me. First the DLC wasn't included on the disc like other special editions of games I have played. Like really? Instead it was one of those stupid slips with a code on it. I wanted everything to be self contained but can't have nice things I guess. The second thing that bugged the shit out of me was Re:Verse being tacked onto that code. I didn't wanna play this shit when it was announced and I sure as hell don't wanna play it now.

  13. The remakes have been a master class? They cut out a third of RE3 and didn't even include the RE2 zapping system, did you even play the originals? That's not a few scrapped features man, it's major gameplay, story, and map elements.

  14. Hey so not meant as a criticism but I thought you should know the comic book filter thing comes through very poorly with youtube's compression
But yea does seem like a pretty goofy visual choice, I'm not sure it ever looks good overlaid on moving scenes, just ends up like you're looking through a microwave door

  15. Hey man, for what it was worth I reckon the mp in bioshock 2 was actually pretty fun… unfortunately I can’t say the same about reverse & like 95% of the other tacked on mp modes from the ps360 gen

  16. I really don’t understand Capcom’s recent attempts at multiplayer spin-off projects. I’m sure it’s a result of their desire to have a slice of the ginormous monopoly that online gaming has become over the years, but that doesn’t amount to much when the actual product they’re pushing out is mediocre at best, and most importantly, that this isn’t something anybody in the RE fanbase is really asking for. Honestly, if they really want to capitalize on this model, then they should either just remake Outbreak or make a completely new title with that same model. A modern, online survival horror title that doesn’t pull any punches is something we haven’t seen in a very long time and an otherwise untapped market that Capcom unfortunately fails to see. I don’t even really like online games all that much but I would play the shit out of that if it was done well.

  17. to be honest with you though, RE3 Remake was total dogsh!t, Capcom outsourced it to some no name studio just to push Re:Verse alongside it.

edit. you know what, RE actually had a decent multiplayer mode once, it was called mercenaries.
