It's been my experience that if they have an issue with providing i.d that matches the credit card they have either stolen the credit card or have illegally gotten it.
As someone who respects Ebay, I was effin' pleased when "Buy Now" became the sale method du-jur. Early in my Ebay experience I did run into a few auctions in the gemstone section of the site, but the site has turned more and more commercial and "Buy Now" has normalised. I still buy on Ebay, judiciously. Lego, tea, bandages, wrist supports, Marvel Legends I missed in the physical store and can't find on Amazon being sold closer than America (postage to Australia from the USA is expensive), and random bedding – to name a few things I have bought there of late. But like every other form of shopping, one needs to keep one's budget in mind.
That hotel story, it's obvious he has been a massive problem for every single hotel he's been at. Hopefully his wife divorced him and bled him dry.
