Professor Layton And the Curious Village is a certified puzzle solving classic! So we sat down with Vic, Save Data Team’s resident professor (or 5th grade history teacher, whatever you want to call it), to see just how well the game structures its puzzles, while Chris and Zak are there to make the same terrible jokes you know them for! Enjoy Professor Layton with an Actual Professor! In this episode we chase around the town to find Ramon, and uhh… we don’t find him.

The thumbnail is making me wither away like a homeless Victorian child being eaten by locusts (In a good way)
That is possibly the best cold open/intro I've seen so far. XD
So listen, I have often throughout my life started conversations with my sister with “hey, sis” and I’m not trying to force audience knowledge on anybody, nobody would want to watch this life, lol
I just feel like things like this too often get pointed out as “bad writing” when it seems quite reasonable if you are going for natural dialogue
The same with exposition when done correctly, it can be organic to the scene and world, but if at any point a movie teaches the viewer anything about the setting or history, some people will unfairly snark at it about lore dumps or exposition characters without understanding the difference between properly and improperly executed exposition
Nice to see our "I'm just here to look pretty" Zak is back again this week
Congrats on getting engaged Chris and Vic!
That edit was amazing zak, ig I’ll run for congress now
I know nobody cares but I just wanted to talk about the father and son puzzle, so:
Father's age = half father's age + 22
Obviously, 22 has to be the other half of his age, so he can only be 44
Or you could do:
Father's age = half father's age + 22
Father's age – half father's age = 22
Half father's age = 22
So he's 44
For once, I'm on Layton's side, that rope/coin puzzle was not worth more than 10 picarats. The "solution" just required brute force observation. I get that's not a fun method to use a streamer though. RIP those hint coins tho.
Awhhhh I wanna watch so bad but I just got the game myself and spoilers AAAAAA.
I'm shocked they gave you that rope coin puzzle in a Layton game with no memo feature, that's ridiculous
Congrats on the engagement!
congrats on getting engaged chris and vic
Congrats on getting engaged Chris and Vic!! 🥳🥳🥳💕💕💕
Congratulations you two are y'all going to have a theme wedding
Congrats on getting engaged Chris and Vic!
That one mouse is gonna have a lot of Tuesday nights.
Commenting for Flick clown reference. A+
Man, Chris got bodied in the first 10 seconds of the video. Ya hate to see it.
That coin rope puzzle, I just thought of it as a maze, then counted how many coins I can reach by entering from the top of the maze, and following the paths.
3:21 I have an Ace Attorney oc called Drew Pitcher. Maybe he could be related to them lol.
Little girl not voiced by Prij is messing with my head.
Congrats on getting engaged, Chris and Vic!
Also, we need Vic vs. Wes to find out who's the true puzzle master.
Congrats on getting engaged Chris and Vic!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congrats Vic and Chris! The couple that puzzles together stays together ❤️
in layton if you are unsure what to do try to see if it can be solved with clocks. There are way too many puzzle solutions involving clocks in these games lol
also luke talking to animals was not a thing in this game yet, the developers came up with that idea afterwards… screws a bit with the continuity of the series since Luke was able to talk to animals in the prequel trilogy but when did talking to animals ever make sense? xD
I hate this goddamn coins and strings puzzle so much it's literally just counting and hoping you don't miss one
Layton in smash would be nice (but people might complain about another swordfighter lol)
