My mom called me 5 days ago and was worried about a spot on her cheek that had become infected. The whole side of her face had become sore and swollen. The place on her face was red and looked really bad. She had messed with it, and it became infected. I know, TMI…
She said she took an antibiotic but only had one for that night. Amoxcillin is what she needed. I told her I'd be right there. I bought the animal antibiotics Amoxcillin, which is the exact same thing as human Amoxcillin. My son is a veterinarian, and it is exactly the same… I promise. I didn't tell my mom, of course, where I got it, but put enough pills in a bottle for her to take for 10 days. She's doing well, her infection is almost gone, and no one has to pay for a doctor. I'm not a doctor, and I know that if it had become worse, she would have needed the doctor.
We also have the Jase case, but being able to take care of my mom and when my kitty had a bad cold with the antibiotics they needed was very nice. I bought every antibiotic they make, and I'm set for years. Antibiotic will last a very long time as long as you put them in a dark, dry place. You can search online for the type and dosage you need for different antibiotics and different weights. You don't have to be a medical professional to do some research. If the SHTF you're going to need to know these things. You may not be able to find a doctor or get someone to a doctor.
All in an effort to make it unaffordable for us to raise our own livestock.

This has been coming for a while. I recently retired after 15 years with a major animal health company. If you have a good relationship with a vet you might be able to get them to complete a veterinary directive to be on file to authorize a certain amount of your common drugs. That said, do stock up. In rural areas vets are becoming few & far between, especially large animal vets.

Animal husbandry has contributed to the overuse of antibiotics causing antibiotic resistance in humans…. more stuff humans have messed up. I know farmers aren't going to like this, but it's probably better for people.

Hydroxychloraquine has been used as an antibacterial, anti-parasitic against various infections, malaria, for instance.
Make it yourself:
Rind of 3 grapefruit(organic preferred)
Rind of three lemons
Pot with at least 6 to 8 cups of water
Bring to boil
Let simmer for 3 hours
Strain
Mix in a bit of raw honey, if you like
Drink warm, if you like, pour the rest in carafe and refrigerate.

As an RN I was required to study Pharmacology in order to have a license to administer medications to Humans. Pharmacologists study medication for years. Before getting upset with this regulation I suggest you all call up pharmacists at any drug store or two and ask them about the Veterinary use of antibiotics. before anyone decides that the government is out of line control _ Let's get the facts rights, folks. Yes, I know some preppers are stocking up on antibiotics to take for themselves without knowing what the F they are doing.
This is what the FDA's website has to say: "Although animal owners would still have access to medically important antimicrobials to address animal health issues, they would need to consult their veterinarian to obtain a prescription."
"Veterinarians have specialized scientific and clinical training and practical experience that can help guide the judicious use of antimicrobials. FDA believes good antimicrobial stewardship practices in animals help slow the development of antimicrobial resistance and preserve the effectiveness of these drugs in both humans and animals. "

If you reasearch floxed people you'd stop thinking of antibiotics as a treatment. I won't even consume animal products with antibiotics or fruits with inpesticides.

Don't worry Ninja, although you butchered a few pronunciations, you were close enough that those who use these for livestock know which ones you listed!
Livestock producer for 45 years. Ivermect is a wormer , so it is sold in the Farm stores and online. What is taking place is a move after the cattle producer mostly. Pen G was hard to find last year and was 3 times the price if you did find it. Pen G is the only antibotic you use for certain Clostridium Enterotoxemia. This requires emergency treatment at once to save the animal. You must have this on hand. I am using this as an example. To run to the vet office and get some of these needed everday over the counter Meds is becoming a control through the USDA and FDA. We have been on VFD or Veterninary Feed Directive for the last 3 years with the Oral Chlortracycline. The veterninary Clinic must send the VFD to the desingnated feed supplier of this drug. The VFD has the number of animals, what for, level of med or fed , Specification, size of animal or animals, location to be given. This cost me $30 a time to do this paper work. A bottle of Pen is 70 plus the 30 now. With this VFD the government has the right to check the paper work at the Vet office, Supplier, and my place of business. So far VDF has been checked at the Supplier feed store. 3 sets of paper work is being processed . I must have the proof of what animal is given this and keep this for 2 years. So when the Government claims farmer/ rancher is running around over giving Medication to livestock , lets get smart. I rancher do not want to send my money, time, energy chasing and running large animal to give it Medication. I use common sense and treat those that have a temp. show signs of sickness . The Vets do not like this either. The paper work is time consuming and takes extra paper work to save for 2 years. Plus having an inspector to come and bother you at work. What is behind this. To break the little guy. Large operations have a vet on staff. Also the break the cow /calf man. We have been loosing money and with drought and high costs of doing business. The end to American made beef will becoming. The lie that all beef is made in USA. Check where you get your beef. Shipped from other Countries and mixed with our beef and call is American. Buy local and support the small beef packer. The big 4 packers are in with the government, so into the fake meat business.

Talked to my neighbor who raises cattle. This has been in effect for a couple years in California. The vets are dealing out the minimum doses on a "wait and see if it is effective" basis. After a 3rd fail they lost a 1,000 lb steer.
See alot of city people seem to believe that ranchers and farmers are putting antibiotics in their livestock willy-nilly with no regard whatsoever. When the truth is why would a farmer or rancher give medication to an animal unless they were sick because it's just an added cost?
