  1. Issue with RWBY fights is that power levels are scaled up and down based on what the plot needs to happen. V2 Neo was able to dodge consecutive point-blank punches from Yang but can't react to Oscar's run-up punch. Sidenote about Neo Vs JN_R if you watch Jaune he spends most the fight T-posing and shifting left & centre between cuts. I find it amusing.

  2. 48:23 I FORKING CLOSED OUT OF THE TAB AND LOST EVERYTHING I WROTE WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I couldn't even tell you that ice types like Glailie are weak to Fighting attacks.

    48:36 Oh hey, me shoutout!

48:54 Noooooooooooo I'm sorry if I gave you anxiety. QnQ

49:33 Oh wow, Nasty Plot to raise Special Attack… and then Tackle. Clearly, this is top tier AI.

49:54 notallthatevil said I was negging and now I am sad. QnQ

50:35 Drowzee said "No level grinding for you!"

52:20 I had this idea for making team RWBY more relevant to the ongoings of the plot; what if Weiss managed to beat Pyrrha? Her perfectionism pays off and she becomes the top student at Beacon. Then Ozpin entrusts her with the Maidens and then all that happens BUT Weiss is very narrowly saved from death by RBY. So now Weiss has Maiden powers but now Salem's gunning for her and everyone knows that she's still vulnerable despite her powers; after all, if Amber could lose with them, so could Weiss. So now RWBY are personally invested in the story as a whole because they're closely tied to the overarching plot, because Weiss is a Maiden and RBY wants to protect her from harm.

On that note, it just struck me as depressing how we established how easily Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald took down Beacon when it should've been at its strongest and then they throw in three colleagues and a boss to rub in just how our heroes are outmatched.

53:10 Oh, uh, sorry for that comment.

54:30 It's not even that Neo broke Yang's aura; it's that she knocked her back like ten meters with a single swing of her thin stick. I don't care how aura works; Neo has never been that physically strong.

    55:56 Or tragic.

56:22 Like you said in the video, that was an animation screw-up. They wanted to show Oscar landing a surprise hit on Neo but they animated him with too much run-up.

1:03:49 You don't need Pound; your go-to's Confusion because Hypno's a Psychic and you get the 1.5x Same-Type Attack Bonus (STAB). Pound has always been your backup against Darks and Bugs that you don't immediately switch away from, so replace it with a move that actually does damage.

1:04:42 Fortunately, Wynaut only knows three moves and none of them are offensive; you'll be fine.

1:05:29 I stand corrected. So long, Peonny.

1:07:15 Man, seeing Romain there is bitter.

1:08:10 As you've said a lot, it's annoying how the world tries to be all "This isn't like a fairy tale with black and white villains and heroes" but then they write the characters as morally binary as possible. I, for one, am fatigued from shows like 'Amphibia', 'The Owl House', 'Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur', and so on having each episode be about the characters screwing up in some way and learning some kind of valuable lesson from it and I would personally prefer 'RWBY' to not do the same thing but I'd at least take those shows over what 'RWBY' is in fact doing.

1:15:04 Gotta swap in Poppy on more Pokémon with moves resisted by Steel. Steel's a great defensive type and, while Poppy only knows Normal moves, that's easy enough to take advantage of.

    1:16:03 Good on ya, Gwen.

1:17:36 Jonah's got the right idea of it. I remember reading about protagonists that don't go through character arcs and I wish more people saw it. You have two types of character arcs: either antagonistic forces push the protagonist to change for a chance of success, OR antagonistic forces test and challenge the protagonist's ability to hold steadfast. Take Miles Morales from 'Into the Spider-Verse'; his inaccurate worldview is that he wants to keep quitting to avoid dealing with expectations, and antagonistic forces force him to learn to always get back up and be persevering. Meanwhile, Agent Fox Mulder holds the accurate worldview that the truth is out there and we need to find and uncover it, and continues to hold that view against every naysayer and doubter. I think this sort of steadfastness is something 'RWBY' ought to harness too; there are so many character songs, volume opening themes that go "You are naive and your silly fairy tale dreams are silly" and I would like for characters to go "I will write my story and slay the dragons and save the day and live happily ever after".

1:19:32 Worry Seed replaces your Pokémon's ability with Insomnia. It's very useful for stopping opponents from using Rest and also wiping out abilities like Wynaut's Shadow Tag.

1:20:31 So long, birdie. Time for Poppy.

    1:20:52 STEEL RESISTS GRASS

    1:22:58 SHAYMIN?!

1:29:40 Spinache is allowed to get XP too. I look forward to when he evolves into Umbreon.

1:33:42 How on Earth were you friends?

    1:35:57 Ooh, and it's Level 20!

    1:38:41 YAY!

1:40:20 I am so sorry but it's Belladonna.

Thanks for the stream! Sorry for all the negging. QnQ
