  3. Jesus was an antitype of Adam. He is the second Adam, the head of new humanity (the Church). Adam, the first man, was a type of Jesus Christ. Adam and Eve were tempted in the Garden (a lush environment) and failed. Jesus was tempted in the wilderness (a barren environment) and defeated Satan. The nation of Israel was also a type of Christ, and their desert temptations were similar to Christ's….again, they failed. That is why Jesus quotes from Deuteronomy 8.

    Study your biblical theology, folks 🙂 I recommend the NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible. It has a lot of this information in it. Fox Nation is ok for a news network but not for theology, although this wasn't too bad for the bare basics.
