I honestly really like how when you get to hooktails castle there are moments where Goombella is preferable and Koops is preferable. Makes it feel like your followers don't become obsolete as the game goes on.

Wait, the action command tutorial is skippable in this game? Unsurprising I didn't know, I only played through this game once, despite the extra save slots and owning multiple memory cards for the Gamecube. When the remake releases next year, I'm buying it. I just hope Nintendo does not price it at $70 like they did with Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It's a remake releasing next year afterall. Not an advanced new game like Tears of the Kingdom is. fyi, I still have not bought Tears of the Kingdom, the $70 price of it killed any hype for it I had left
Oh, speaking of the TTYD remake, I hope they correct that translation error in one of Lakitu variants, I think exclusive to the Pit of 100 Trials. In original TTYD, it has a translation error in the Tattle entry, where Goombella refers to the spinies Lakitu tosses out, as "pipes". When I first saw that when I played this game, even kid me was confused, and I was not a smart kid

I think the whole koopie koo scene is not meant to imply a "troubled" relationship and more about being upset with koops reckless abandonment of her as well as his own safety. If you have seen the music video for "wake me up when September ends" – by Green Day, its reminiscent of how the girlfriend reacted when the guy told her he was going into the army. That's not to say that paper mario isn't above DV. Anyone remember Lakilester?
As for the the bandage, I think it plays into the tattle dialog with koopie koo being motherly, essentially babying koops. Would not be surprised if there was a small red spot or something underneath XD.
Remember when at the end of the game you got all the stars and the door opened up and a thousand bears came running out at you? Good times.
