332 Nine and I thought we were merging with one or two Axis bandits, but we ended up getting into serious trouble when three more showed up. Outnumbered five versus two, we had to find a way to survive. Here is how the entire fight played out in 1st person from our first encounter until my belly landing safely. It’s hard to believe we survived this fight against all odds, and it pays tribute to the legendary P51 Mustang. The more you fly it the more you fall in love with it. Every sortie is a learning experience and looking back on this of course I see things I could have done better. At one point I noticed I accidentally left 1 notch of flaps in when running back toward land. Enjoy the battle!
