Ozzy Osbourne cancels Power Trip 2023! JUDAS PRIEST to the rescue?

Our hopes for Ozzy Osbourne’s health to finally improve and for him to go back on the road this year have just been shattered.

The Power Trip Festival is no doubt one of the most anticipated events in the world of Heavy Metal this year, and not only because it will finally gather Iron Maiden and Metallica on one stage, but also because it was supposed be the site of not one but two loud comebacks, marking the first AC/DC concert with Brian Johnson since 2016, and the first Ozzy Osbourne live show in nearly 5 years.

Yet sadly today Ozzy announced that he has to cancel his appearance at this year’s Power Trip Festival.

02:43 – So who will replace him?

  1. Totally missing the point here. Power Trip is a big commercial, corporate event and apparently metal fans didn't really buy into this Coachella vibes (as originally they have been planning 2 weekends but first is far from being sold out). They need a big draw, big name to fit the bill instead of Ozzy. With all due respect to Priest, they are commercially at like 1/4 of Ozzy's size in the US – drawing maybe 3-4k people a night on their own tours. Maybe reunion of Rob-Glenn-KK trio would be a better sell but we know it won't happen. The festival need a stronger bill commercially. Rumours are it could be Rage Against The Machine (huge in the US), Aerosmith (who will be in the middle of their farewell tour in Autumn) or Motley Crue. All 3 bands being bigger in the US than Priest – those are just facts…

  2. It 110% not be priest, You can charge the same for the Saturday Bill and have Priest fill it, They are already having issues selling tickets.I love Priest, But they were to be the opening act for Ozzys last Tour.

Aerosmith has a gap in there peace out tour for over a week on these dates the festival is being played, This looks like it was purpose built and to be prepared if ozzy can’t pull the trigger.

Or sadly it will be Motley Crüe.. Who is now a shell of what they used to be..

  3. Judas Priest is the best option.
1- they are the most important metal band of all time!
2- they fit the theme of the weekend perfectly
I know they aren't as big as they once was and Rob cant hit the high notes anymore but it still would be a good fit. And if Rob and Ian would pull heads out of their ass and bring KK back it would be that much better.

  4. Ozzy at his last appearance was just sad. His band was amazing but it was difficult to watch him struggle through the set. To continue performing in this state risks tarnishing his legacy.
