Modern Archaeology yeah nothing actually like this…but during that point in time of the 30's and anytime before the end of WW2 it was like this where Archaeologist had to protect themselves from the country they are in (since Permits was heavily disregarded and scoffed at back in those days) and protect themselves from bandits and thieving archeologists and let's not forget Nazi's….oh speaking of Archaeologist and Nazis…there is a Movie Based on a true story and events during WW2 involving historical artifacts being stolen by Nazi's and a platoon of History Professionals, Art Experts and Archaeologist tasked in protecting and stealing important certain pieces of history before the Nazi's do…and that movie is called "Monument Men"
The Ark theme always gives me chills.
Oh man can you Imagine if they redo all of the Indiana Jones games and it be a much higher quality visuals and it be in the style of the Tomb Raider games and Metal Gear games from 3 (snake eater) and up…when it comes to the aspect of perspective in gameplay camera angles 🤔 that would be not just off the chain it would also be mind-blowingly sick
The final scene clip of the storage place meme should say Where all of the what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas evidence and stories are kept 😂 😂
Easily one of my favorite movies!! I was 6 when it came out. It's always a blast watching Manly Movie Mondays with you guys! The commentary is like me and my friends when we watch movies.
48:10 – I challenge that History Nerd fact!
The Holy Roman Empire was the first Reich. The second Reich was the German Empire established by Bismarck in 1871, which lasted until the end of WW1 and was replaced by the Weimar Republic (the weak central government and resentment at the concessions the victorious Allies imposed on Germany were the main reasons Hitler was able to take over).
The Imperial Roman iconography was largely copied from Mussolini's Fascist Italy. Hitler was kind of a fanboy.
He's a butt buddy and they're all fudge pushers and one guy is a nose picker!
The one bit of the Map Room scene that annoys me is that it reveals that the secret location of the Ark is in the middle of the biggest building in the exact centre of the map.
You kids don’t know what Nazis are. My family fought the ACTUAL Nazi party. Do NOT casually throw that accusation around.
Daddy Pascal as Indiana Jones.
Fuck it, I'm in. Let's do this. Print those posters up, start the script. Strike while the iron's hot, people!
I grew up with a firm belief that every single punch sounded all the punches in Indiana Jones. The ol' cannonball exploding on a sack of beef.
Sean, I'm going to probably die on this hill lonesome ornery and mean: Crystal Skull is not as bad as everyone says it is.
History of the World, Part I reference….niiiice
Don't know if you guys know the Michelle Phillips (of Mamas and Papas fame) story re: Harrison Ford. She was in the theater watching A New Hope back in 77 when Han Solo made his appearance, and she actually yelled, "Holy shit, that's my pot dealer!"
Also, Ford did all his own stunts accept for 2– when he rode the giant statue down, and the under-the-truck sequence. Those were done by his stuntman. AND they choreographed the whole Nazi plane fight scene to make sure Indy never lost his hat.
Yeeeeah, Marion wasn't 17. She was 15 (and I think some versions of the script she was even younger)
eeew
What Indiana doing is actually a complete opposite of what the archeologists do. They would be called “grave robber” by them. Actual archeologists are sitting day in day out in a pit with a brush and a spatula. 😢
Its pretty laughable that the Nazis thought a Jewish artifact would help them.
Legend has it that Spielberg & Lucas were on holiday and Spielberg casually mentioned that he'd like to direct a James Bond movie but Lucas said' I have something like it'…and so you get, as in 007, the beginning is actually the tail-end of Indy's previous adventure (Bond's previous mission). Not sure its true, recall reading it around the time. The just-shoot-the-sword guy is one of the greatest sight gags in cinema. I saw it in the cinema in '81 and it almost brought the house down.
Watch animal pre teaser
47:46 yeah i recall the biggest "?" in this movie is did the sub never dive and so I guess Indy just hung out on the top of it for all that distance they showed it traveling on the map? Wow
Great film, love it
