Chinese Indie games are so hit or miss. Some of them are absolutely great and the developers are almost obsessively taking care of them with updates and community work. Others are very clearly meant to fall off a cliff after the refund time is up and the developers quickly move on to the next "scam".
Sad thing is that the latter version also uses content creators to aid them in their behavior, because they also rarely play more than an hour or two before they give a ringing endorsement.
Jeff, is this one really worth it to buy as it is still in early access?
Photon Blade X 6 so OP
My intuition with the early withdrawal thing is that it should probably be used only if you're about to die. I think the timer is when you'll be pulled out, regardless of the mission status. If you have your missions complete but think you'll die before time's up, then you withdraw to save your life. If your mission still isn't complete but you're pretty certain you'll die first, then you can withdraw so that you don't fail the mission AND die. You probably want to stay in the level as long as possible to get more XP, more modules, and more crystals.
But I haven't played it myself, so I can't be sure. I'm also not sure what the penalty for dying is besides just failing any uncompleted missions.
