I usually don't like heavy "gauge based" systems BUT the Momentum mechanic works surprisingly well in this. Great implementation by the team! -BoomstickAlex
Deck13 sure doesn't lack creativity when coming up with new gameplay twists.
🆗🆗👀👀👀👀🆗🆗
I LOVE the surge 2 but I don’t know about this one, I mean I love building up a combo meter in a hack n slash like the DMC series but if it’s tied to how fast/ how strong your attacks are then it seems like a slog to get through unless there’s going to be upgrades to how much momentum you accumulate per hit, I’ll wait for a sale.
You're right about the enemy types. Smaller ones especially, most people aren't a fan of big bosses.
Prince of War lol
So god of war?
Enemy Variety is a MUST
Bro you have some of the best gaming videos on youtube period!
An action game veteran(DMC/Bayo/Sekiro) would have a field day with this game
If there's time to improve, I would like the team from deck13 to add cool power up gadgets like arm or weapons that can be call upon, kind of Ironman vs hulk scene
Open World Action RPG… with sand? Anakin dislikes this😅
this reminds me of the system used in combat in Chained Echoes
So this people made surge 1 and 2 nice, really liked both games, this is their elden ring equivalent probably
Thanks for the overview, Boomstick! This is easily my most anticipated title of the first half of 2023.
That indeed looks look.
Wow you are talented. practice some more and you can be a lead concept designer in no time!
Really excited for this game!
The momentum system sounds like pitching a tent and that shatter ability use to release all that energy man, pretty sus but that is why it sounds good
Love how Deck 13 tries new things, granted some might not work as well as others. Compared to some other developers who just regurgitate the same products over and over. I loved my time with The Surge 1-2.
do we get choises or at least our character dialogue in cutscenes. Please don't tell me that the main character is silent protagonist
hey Alex 🙏do we get choices or at least our character dialogue in cutscenes. Please don't tell me that the main character is silent protagonist
how progression works? every monster give you different loot to upgrade your gear? or is it based on exp?
I hope it won't flop like Anthem tho 🤝
I Wan to see mounts.
So it's like monster hunter with a killstreak?
Hey man I have to say I was interested in this game and was looking at different people who explained this game and you have to be probably the best one that not only doesn't have any sort of BS when he explains it but also you don't have any sort of crazy ADHD like gimmick where you have to explain it as though you're about to die in 5 seconds you clearly in concisely explain what each mechanic does how things are done in combat how the momentum gauge works you made clear comparisons to the games that their company had made in the past which I have personally played both surges and love them so you just clearly in concisely explain the game and it's nice and refreshing to see that instead of somebody doing some sort of big dumb gimmick and I really did like your drawings. I might have to start looking at you when it comes to game previews from now on. You also didn't waste any time and just getting into the nitty gritty of things. You just started going right into the gameplay.
Add vehicles and tons of customization, with a good player base and I’m sold
Its looks like a gow with rpg elements. Nice. Hope they hears your concerns and change the ememy variety and typs a little more. If not i think it will be repetetive and sound more work than fun. I dont like to kill the same type of enemy again and again forever!!!
Not souls like. I'm happy. Means I can play it and enjoy the scenery. Hurray. That said, make a stupid difficulty for those who like that
surprisingly it does not look generic

Question could the more enemy types be a dlc thing? I mean if this is team who did remnant they added a lot of enemies in the dlc didn’t they
Looks like KOA
Company: We're in a tight budget..
Him: Say no more 😅
You got me to subscribe just on that momentum bar drawing alone! Glad i popped by
Not a souls!!!! Like not stamina!!!! Barrr music to my ears thank you!!
Prefer blood and gore not sand and clay
Did they add in more enemy types?
HUH?!
I like the drawing 😂😂
like wo: long no enemy variety
“The hook of the combat system” as he throws a hook was a nice touch
Hack and Slash on sand.
Lets hope its not another Forspoken or Bleak Faith moment.
Looks promising, and I absolutely LOVE The Surge games
Are there any stickman customisation options … Deal-breaker for me 🧐
This game has so many aspects from games I think would make a great experience. Open world hack and slash combo switches like in blood Bourne and OG god of war and hopefully some difficulty too
So basically you're playing as Thanos in an abandoned sand kingdom.
