Nova Drift – New Experimental Patch – Fleet Upgrade

Enemies 2.0, Part 2 was recently released on the experimental branch, so of course I had to try it out. The latest patch includes some nice buffs to constructs. Subvariants only require unlocking the construct type. Bulwarks do not attack Decoys with their revenge blast, and constructs attempt to avoid attacking Bulwark’s shield. There are several more changes, but I am excited to see what comes of the new mods, synergies, and tweaks.

To access the experimental branch on Steam, right click the game in your library, select Properties, chose Betas, and select the experimental option in the drop down menu. You may need to restart Steam to initiate the download.

Nova Drift is a 2-D space shooter with rogue-like elements. You destroy enemies, collect upgrade points, and choose between several varieties of weapons, shields, and body types along with dozens of mods that significantly change how you play the game.

  1. This video taught me how to pronounce Ricochet.
Enemies 2.0 and English 101 exclusive only to this channel.
And soeaking of Ricochet, try with Grenade

  2. mentions apotheosis "hey he's planning to take apotheosis, awesome"
takes blink instead, dies to ramming "damnit" but I see the need to compensate for the speed reduction. I think a rampage or 3 with apotheosis would've been my choice but it's probably just my preference on strafe over blink

I didn't read the patch notes but yeah, excited for the drone changes especially the formation that lets them pierce. Also looking for a viable build that makes shooting drones to death viable too with burnout reactors and self-destruct since the drones now fly towards a target. Maybe with apex machinery if creating drones using hp is sustainable (maybe if they lower the cost of to about 5% hp)

Maelstrom does seem weaker but I think its better now that it doesnt spin larger enemies around like theyre in a washing machine. Also curious if they changed blink/strafe controls and hull color while burning from dying star
