How Many Tracks Do You Need? Takom Object 279 in 72nd Scale

Object 279… It has a lot of tracks. Does it need that many? Probably. They were a little fiddly to install, but not that bad, not really.
I found the photo etch to be be more annoying than the tracks, really, but your experience may vary… You might love photo etch.

Overall, not a bad 1/72 scale representation of the Object 279 from Takom. It’s a very odd tank. That’s waht I like about it.

  1. I have the 1/35 scale version of this kit and although the tracks are a little bit bigger, they're individual links, 82 links per run of track, and you don't get the helpful jig for the sprocket wheel, you have to assemble the tracks with the wheels fixed in place on the hull. I didn't fancy that at all and treated myself to the Masterclub metal track set for the Object 279. The 1/35 scale kit is very similar to the 1/72 scale one, although you only get a single hull, you do get parts to build two complete turrets, so you can make both versions and then decide which turret to display on the model.
