Mario Kart 9 Retro Track Predictions!

After over a DECADE of Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been announced alongside Mario Kart 9! With every single mario kart game that releases since Mario kart ds, a few tracks from the previous mario kart games have also made a comeback. So Today I’m going to look at Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Super Circuit, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to find out which 24 retro tracks I could predict returning in this game! Also these predictions will not include DLC, just base game retro tracks!

  1. I don’t think Mario Kart 8 will get a lot of representation in the new Mario Kart; I’m willing to bet most of the Tour tracks that missed out on the Booster Course Pass will be retro tracks.
    Tour Piranha Plant Pipeline
    3DS Mario Circuit
    Wii Dry Dry Ruins
    DS Airship Fortress
    GCN Mushroom Bridge
    GBA Lakeside Park
    N64 Koopa Troopa Beach
    SNES Vanilla Lake 2

  2. Calling it now, but I expect 9 to not have any returning retro tracks from 8DX since they’re basically already playable on Switch 2. Half of 8’s tracks are very recent, while the other half have been played for around a decade. Nintendo have no incentive to bring back any of the 96 8DX tracks right now.

  3. This could finally be the time wario colosseum and wario stadium n64 since they are massive and would play well. I do think any old courses that have been in tour could get their variants be in different laps so everyone isn't crashing into each other constantly

  4. A video popped up in my recommended of that "i'm Squidward" clip from Opposite day where everyone was a different version of the Switch and Gary was the Switch 2, perfect way to sum it up imo 😂

Besides that, i think it would make sense for them to just make new tracks altogether for the non-Mario franchises since they've gotten a lot bigger since MK8's release (especially with the Zelda Splatoon series)

Also, Captain Falcon needs to be a playable character in the next game, making F-Zero tracks in 8 and not including him as a character is a crime

  5. As someone whose first Mario Kart game was MKDS, I'm so upset that no YouTuber has given love to DS Rainbow Road. Honestly my favorite Rainbow Road track of all time. The loops were incredibly ahead of their time, and DS Rainbow Road honestly has my favorite Rainbow Road theme in all of Mario Kart. It's so beautiful and majestic, and really hypes you up. You really feel like you're racing in the stars, on a magical road of solid rainbow. Also, the beat drop syncing with the first loop will never not be hype as hell. It kinda hurts seeing people put GBA Rainbow Road above DS to return. Double Dash Rainbow Road I can see, but the disrespect to put GBA over DS is pretty saddening to me. Also, this might be a hot take, but I don't think we need any Wii U/Switch tracks. We've been playing MK8 for 11 YEARS. While some of the tracks are definitely amazing, getting tracks from a game we've been playing for 11 years after we FINALLY moved to the next game would be kinda annoying imo. Focus the retro tracks on courses that really need it, please don't give us the tracks we've been playing since 2014. As for the Tour original tracks, I also think its WAY too soon to remake them. (And yes I totally agree, the Tour city tracks just felt so bland and boring compared to the base game and retro booster course tracks. They were FINE, but it always hurt my soul in online when a tour city rank track won the random spin over something like Waluigi Pinball. I'd be fine with Piranha Plant Pipeline being in 9, as that was the only Tour Track that didn't make the BCP cut.)

TLDR: Really sad that no YouTuber is giving DS Rainbow Road love, I don't want to see any tracks from MK8/MK8DX return because I think it's way too soon/We've been playing these tracks for 11 YEARS. Also no Tour Tracks besides Piranha Plant Pipeline.

I just found your channel and I have to say you're amazing! I ALWAYS love when YouTubers add in lots of quick, low quality meme edits to their videos, it's the best for my broken sense of humor! I can't wait to see what video you put out next dude, I'm glad you're taking me along for the ride! ❤

  6. I really hate how people don’t want SNES tracks especially after the BCP did a whole revamp on BC3 which was first shown in Tour, I expect Vanilla Lake 1, Mario Circuit 4 & Ghost Valley 3 to come back

  7. Here's my predictions for which retros I think will come in the next Mario Kart game.
Shell Cup: Figure-8 Circuit, Koopa Beach I, Thwomp Ruins, Toad's Factory

Banana Cup: Toad Harbor, Choco Island I, Shy Guy Bazaar, Vanilla Lake II

Leaf Cup: Yoshi Desert, Broken Pier, Mushroom City, Mario Circuit IV

Lightning Cup: N64 Wario Stadium, Cloudtop Cruise, GCN Bowser's Castle, GBA Rainbow Road

And assuming the next game has 24 retros instead of 16 (which I really hope happens), it would look something like this:
Shell Cup: Figure-8 Circuit, Koopa Beach I, Thwomp Ruins, Toad's Factory

Banana Cup: Toad Harbor, Choco Island I, Wii Luigi Circuit, Shy Guy Bazaar
Feather Cup: Vanilla Lake II, Piranha Plant Pipeway, Super Bell Subway, Dragon Driftway
Leaf Cup: Yoshi Desert, Dolphin Shoals, Broken Pier, Mushroom City

Lightning Cup: Mario Circuit IV, Lakeside Park, Wario Shipyard, DS Bowser Castle
Spiny Cup: N64 Wario Stadium, Cloudtop Cruise, GCN Bowser's Castle, GBA Rainbow Road

This would be under the assumption that Nintendo would dedicate the Retros exclusively to tracks they haven't remade yet. I think we're the reaching the point where it's hard to find new tracks to add as Retro courses as proven by the Mariokart 8 DLC and Booster Course Pass adding tracks they've already remade.
