Deja Vu is happening all over again as Winter Storm Gerri is forecast to bring another significant snowstorm and severe weather outbreak for tens of millions of people. Gerri will be another cross-country monster storm bringing a blizzard, severe weather outbreak, widespread wind, and flooding to many reeling from winter storm Finn. Many areas across NE, IA, MN, IL, can expect 6-12 inches of snow accumulation from Gerri, while much of Wisconsin and Michigan could see between 1-2 feet of snow.
Severe weather will be a major problem as well across the South and Southeast. Tornadoes are likely across parts of the Ark-La-Tx and Ark-La-Miss regions tomorrow evening, with a more significant tornado threat setting up from AL and FL through the Carolinas into Friday. Damaging straight line winds will also be a major concern.
This is a dangerous and high impact winter storm. Please make preparations for Gerri if you live across most of the US. Monitor your local weather stations, the NWS, and the SPC for the latest updates.
