My girlfriend has been playing through the Witcher 3 and taking her time with it. After discovering a love for Gwent, it became clear that she wasn’t going to finish the game anytime soon. This video documents her journey so far through White Orchard and Velen. There will be a sequel once she’s further through the game, but for now she’s a little too preoccupied with cards to make any progress.

I have spent 300hrs inside the game and I have never noticed that beasts have white (silver) healthbar because you need to use silver sword on them…🤦♂

Did you guys already try Red Dead Redemption 2? It would be a nice, natural progression from Witcher 3.
First time I played the witcher 3, I put it on ultra hard because "I completed witcher 2 this will be easy". I'm not ashamed to say, my main motivator for the first 20 hours of game play turned out to be gwent. I would literally run across parts of the map where everything was instadeath… Just so I could reach the pub and play gwent. 🤣
Sad to see that the standalone version of gwent is stopping getting updates really soon, I truly love the concept of a multi round match and that you draw all your cards at the start of each round so you can plan ahead. We're still getting some card drops next year but after that gwent will start dying really slowly until CDPR decides to shut down the servers.

I played through the story without straying too much, it felt out of character to get distracted and just explore. After completing the story and before going to the dlc (I still haven’t), I figured that would be downtime for Geralt that would realistically make sense for him to explore and take contracts.

oh my gosh her getting addicted to Gwent and doing nothing else is literally me. every playthrough I just get hooked on it. The online Gwent they have, while fun, just isn't the same and doesn't scratch the same itch OG Witcher 3 Gwent does

Few years ago I familiarised my girlfriend with Mass Effect trilogy. After couple walks through she even raised difficulty from easiest 🙂
Couple months ago she finally gave a chance to Witcher 3. I like it sometime to sit near her playing as it is similar with watching move or stream 🙂

Witcher 3 is just Gwent with some nifty side quests attached to it.
I recently played through the witcher 3 for the first time too and got hooked on gwent, but I was so far in the story that I had already gone to the party where if you dont play gwent there you can never get all the cards thus missing out on the gwent achievement 🙁
