JRPGs I've Played So Far (2022 – Part 1)

JRPGs I’ve Played So Far

At the end of the year, I would normally round up the best JRPGs I’d finished and put them on to a top 10 list. However, as a result of that many games would get left behind, and any JRPG I finish is what I consider to be a quality title. Preferably, I want to talk about all of them in some way.

So after a bit of thought, I thought why not change up the formula a little bit. The ranking would remain, but I would make a video on all the JRPGs I played during a 3 month period rather than once a year. That way, it gives spotlight to the JRPGs that I feel are worth playing.

With that in mind, here’s the first video in a hopefully long running series called ‘JRPGs I’ve Played So Far’!

  1. Starting something a little new – normally I'd leave my round up of JRPGs till the end of the year, but any game that didn't make the cut would be left out, despite being a quality game in my eyes. So from now on, I'll round them all up every 3 months.

  2. 8:35 Says "Do you like travelling?". Nice one 😀 . So far I have not finished many games this year… Did play as much as I could of Code Vein but it got too difficult for me haha.

  3. I haven't enjoyed a JRPG since PSX era. Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Final Fantasy 7 were the pinnacle of JRPGs for me. Why can't they make anything as good as those games anymore?

  4. Agree about Sophie 2. Superb game. I've played it twice already! GUST is such a reliable developer. I really enjoyed Ara Fell too and there is a sequel with a less catchy title, but it's good fun: Rise of the Third Power.

  5. 65 hrs on DQ XIS? (insert "those are rookie numbers" meme here) – Did you fight the very very last boss? ya know, the one after the credits roll??

I absolutely LOVE DQ XIS, one of the best JRPG's I have played.

  6. While I'm sure some other petty git has pointed this out, Nier Replicant isn't the first. The series has a long and weird history (I believe the first game was called Drakkengard or something). Worth a Google as it's kinda entertaining.
