Live PS4 No Man's Sky: Orbital Update: Frigate Fleet Missions

Tonight’s Game Night stream starts on the Orbital Update updates. The update has still not dropped on the Xbox platform, but Hello games has released 2 patches in the last 24 hours fixing many of the bugs. This includes the text issues I was specifically experiencing uniquely to PS4 users. They fixed the 4 billion Nanite glitch, but the Starborn Runner glitch still works at the Expedition terminal in the space anomaly.

Specifically tonight I poke at the effects of the update on my Frigate Fleet Missions. According to the No Man’s Sky Wiki, the Oribital Update adds the following features to the Frigates.

“While away on expeditions, frigates may now call home via the starship communicator or the fleet command terminal on your freighter.
The fleet commander may seek your advice in dealing with a tricky situation, or may even request direct assistance.
Your decisions at these moments, or your efforts in coming to the aid of your fleet, have a direct impact on the outcome and rewards for your fleet missions.”

During tonight’s casual stream, I set up and send off my Frigate Fleet Missions and monitor for any messages from my Fleet commanders during these missions, against the backdrop of preparing for the jump to galaxy #20. This jump I am testing a Viewer Comment who said to use a wormhole within 5,000 ly of the Galactic core, then when you make the Galactic jump it will place you within 5,000 ly of the new galaxy’s core. And… it worked! Thank you 🙂
