  1. As much as I love Magic I feel like I'm getting choked with the amount of releases that have been coming out. That with the rising prices, I just can't keep up anymore and that makes me incredibly sad. The Universes Beyond sets are complicated for me, I dislike the idea but I've loved the cards and most of the flavor/ mechanics they have used to translate the IPs into the game.

  2. I enjoy universes beyond because there are cool cards. And pretty nice looking art. I don't mind the expensive alt art boxes because the commander decks are still cheap.

  3. Never played a Fallout game, mostly stuck around out of curiosity. And I guess I'm very boomer-Magic like in my mentality as well, so some of the stories/anecdotes tickle my fancy.

  4. Ive played magic for 13 years, and have been off of it for about 2 years, so ive missed a good amount of the universe beyonds, but I LOVE the fallout universe, and this universe beyond has brought my interest back into the game. I won't say Im a fan of the universe beyond idea, but its hard for me to not like Fallout/MTG love child. I feel odd being in a mixed bag of "I like it because I like this universe, but dont like it because im not a fan of that universe" so overall I suppose to be fair to all, I'll just accept the Universe Beyond as a good that reignites the love of the game for some and brings new players in. Though the greedy pockets for these collector boxes def makes it hurt a bit more.

  5. I absolutely love the fallout franchise and and im now recently playing magic again after not playing magic for over 14 years having them together is amazing to me. I didn't quit magic because I didn't like it I quit because I moved in with a "friend" and they kicked me out keeping my cards in the process and I had somewhere around 6k. Every single card I had was from alpha and beta and now knowing how much those can be worth I quit life not magic. I am basically a new player now and don't understand a lot of it and only have one person I get to play if at all. Magic is already an expensive hobby but to have a universe beyond single pack be over $30 is utterly ridiculous. At that price it should at least come with some counters and free foil tokens or something. I don't see how in todays economy how people can buy them at that price. I love the two but with my budget a new player like me has another thing they can't enjoy simply because of the price tag that comes with it. At $30 I should get 2 packs and I wouldn't complain as much.

  6. I kinda like universes beyond because I get to play cool things from series I like, but I think wotc is just printing too many cards in general which might be part of the souring

  7. I legit started playing because of the Lord of the Rings sets that came out. I had an interest in high school and wanted to learn, person gave up teaching me. Years later, Lord of the Rings (one of my absolute favorite IPs of all time) is now joining the MTG universe/ beyond. I couldn't help but jump in head first and now we have 14+ decks, most of which are custom build/ self put together and we are about to start our first cube!!!! This was really neat to watch and has convinced me that it might be worth the purchase if we get the nice chunk of change to invest 😀

  9. I bought a box for 350 and I had been waiting for 4 months since official info release and ~6-7 months since I first saw the full art sol ring in tabletop simulator with an MTG commander mod.

  10. Maybe if they held off on universes beyond for longer so the customer base actually has money to buy these sets we wouldn't have buyers fatigue. I love universes beyond but the FOMO for Dr Who and LOTR really killed my bank account. I think if they gave the players more of the regular sets and focus on a universes beyond once or twice a year would be a smarter move. Especially when normal sets like Lost caverns of Ixalan was a such a big set just for the the community in general. I get they are trying to bring in new fans as well but I could care less about an assassins creed set.
