Given the information we were given, I can't quite blame him for making that mistake. It'd feel wrong to me too. At no point, presumably, was he informed to use a test tube. I'm assuming his wife/S.O. just handed him a ziplock bag and said "go for it, champ." If he didn't get a test tube to do the sample, you can't really fault him if he's ONLY given a bag. I wouldn't go back to them either.
Wait, so where did the bag come from. Was it a random bag his wife got after being vaguely told about it and misunderstanding? Them bag's come with stuff in them so it either fell out, or had noting in it to begin with. I got a feeling the bag she gave was a representation the the bag and not the actual bag he was suppose to use.
