I'm abandoning my 25,000 point Tyranid collection! (kind of)

After 16 years of collecting Tyranids, it’s time to throw them all away and start again! Well, I’m not going to throw them away, but I am starting a brand new hive fleet from scratch, with the goal to build it up to 20,000+ points within the next few months.

  1. That's a great colour scheme . love it !!
Now my gripe is this …. Here I am with 4 "unfinished armies" ( always been a collector , little bit of a painter and rarely the gamer, really love the lore/universe etc) . I was going to utilize the Leviathan marines into my new Dark Angels and sell off/trade the Tyranids 👍…… But no😒….now you have peaked my interest into possibly keeping the Tyranids and start a flipping 5th army !!😲😳😧 …..😁😄
Looking forward to the updates and progress of your new Hive Fleet !!

  2. I'd like to see small teams of other factions go up against the new fleet, similar to the Deathwatch narrative campaigns of the past. Possibly a "desperate alliance" kind of thing with Tau, Votann, Aelderi and maybe even an Ork having to work together to survive.

  3. Yes!!! Tyranids Narrative Campaign!!!

As a fellow Nids player who really likes seeing you play and always follow your content, I'm now super hyped.

Especially because my 12k+ points of Nids follow a completely different idea, as the narrative behind the fleet started from a super small splinter of the Hive Fleet Behemoth, erroneously believed to be a different Hive Fleet because of the darker colours (although the discrepancy was simply caused by the surrounding Red Stars, which highlighted the red in darker tones and caused the blue to look more like a purplish black) and thus called Hive Fleet Praedetor, which survived and started collecting other similarly small splinters from all other Hive Fleets and a few more grown in secret on various planets thanks to The Great Rift, so every single unit is painted (and others are yet to be painted, because I'm a very slow painter) in a different way, forming an incredibly varied army, the Hive Fleet Superstes.

Which means this is the only Tyranids Narrative Campaign I could never do "legitimately", it just wouldn't look the same.

  4. Don’t even have to watch the video. It’s about time Matthew I’ve looked at those terrible bugs far to long and be mediocre at best. Just do it !! Plus this is one of the editions you lost to Dave!!

  5. I love the tyranid idea, but hate the implementation. Not an uncommon complaint, but it has way too much 80's flavor of "Bioweapons are just swords and guns with eyeballs or tongues". I'm currently in the hobby of collecting STL files to unashamedly print my own very similar but more Zerg-like version of Tyranids for my eventual hive fleet.

  6. What about having 2-3 list available and then having to roll randomly to see which you use, the unused list continue to next match and you add 1 new so that way you dont have to make 3 new list each time.

  7. I’ve been planning on painting ‘Nids with a black and acid green carapace scheme. Looks like they’ll be a Hive Fleet Nilhus (sp?) splinter. Can’t wait for the painting guide. 🪲👍

  8. I've got a narrative campaign question. I have a small pool of people I play with. How would you balance two forces across a narrative campaign when they are significantly different power or skill levels?

  9. Id love to see how you came up with the back ground narrative of your fleet and what made you pick the colour schemes!!

Being relatively knew to Warhammer 40k i love the grim dark verse and how it allows you to create your own!!

So be nice to see how a veteran of 16yrs plus did it!! 😊
