I Traded Up to a British Sports Car!

It started with a free Renault Clio that I fixed up and sold for a profit. Later I purchased a 1970 Morris 1300 that I also fixed up and sold for a profit. Now I have traded to a British sports car! A 1998 MGF!

  1. They very fun little cars should make great adition to the fleet for little while. the K-series is firecracker of an engine (headgasket issues aside) very rev happy and nippy. The TF is definitely an improvement but can't fault the F. The spec on this stunning as well silver over red

  2. Hi Adam you have done well with this one the MG F was aimed at ladies pretty much as was the Triumph Spitfire I am sure you and your wife will have a lot of fun with it just keep on eye on the engine oil K engines are picky and can blow the oil seal close to the oil filter. Best regards Andy Allen.

  3. Hello Adam. As you say, a very attractive finacial alternative to an Elise , which after all has the same unit . An 100k isn't bad at all . The important point is head gasket failure . And …phew ! your good lady is happy 😂 ! Cheers Adam …..wish it was the TR6

  4. Wife doesn't like red interiors ?, and you had to sell the Red Morris, bet she didn't like that either, time for a new wife 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 FYI RED is my favorite colour as you know looking at my Jaguar MKII.
As a previous owner of a C3 corvette and having worked on MANY of them it is a car you MUST own, but it will come to a point when the itch is scratched and you want something more comfortable like a later Corvette.
IMO cars today 200,000 is nothing IF it has been maintained.

  5. Great purchase. Got to say though, if you want the best little inexpensive convertible sports car, that would be a Miata/MX5. I had a 1990 and it's was the most fun car I've owned. I put over 325,000 miles on it and had zero issues. Enjoy the MG. Looking forward to more info on it. They aren't available here in the U.S.

  6. I got sooooo excited at the start, because I saw the yellow TR6, it's like the one I have, and I thought, wow he's buying a car just like mine. Not to be, my life is being back to being boring.

  7. I’m a long time Jaguar V12 owner in the USA who also happened to recently get an MGF (imported from Netherlands). The most shocking thing has been the fuel efficiency. It just goes and goes and goes, but the gas needle never moves! I needed new hydrolastic units from hahsltd, door latch, door hinge pins…. But that’s about it.
