  1. My problem with Emily in Paris is that it gives such a glossy and artificial image of Paris. As if I were looking at the city through a some kind of filter. It lacks the characteristic authenticity and roughness that makes the Paris. Of course it should be taken as a lighthearted entertainment as it is meant to be.

  2. Your observations are spot-on, Arielle! It's so nice to have the perspective of a North American who actually knows what she's talking about because you actually live in Paris. Even though Emily's behavior has been cringe-inducing, the show has gotten better, and I can actually admit that I watch it, without being too embarrassed! 🤪
Also, just as an aside, I am currently in Paris and just visited the friperie BIS Boutique Solidaire that you recommended in one of your videos. I found some great sweaters and scarves there and spent LESS THAN 40 euros! Thanks for the valuable recommendation!

  3. I watch the show to disconnect from reality. Specially from the hardships of the year(s) it was released in. I just can’t belly to notice the individuals that harshly criticized it didn’t face any actual hardships in real life in the very harsh span of 2020-2022 with that being said I’m actually grateful for this show.

  4. I really enjoyed hearing your perspective as someone from North America but also living in Paris (and speaking French). Being an American (who studied French in high school), I even cringed at the things Emily does to make her stand out much and how embarrassing Americans can be abroad.

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on season 3!
