  1. I totally agree with you about Paleo Pines. It was disappointing to me as well. Roots of Pacha is another great game I played in 2023. I’ve had a blast playing it and the game overall has a lot of content for its price.

  2. I'm feeling real decision fatigue with all of the games this year 🙁 I almost miss the days of just waiting and waiting for the next SoS to come out because there's just too much to choose from these days!

  3. Thanks for sharing this overview, Eli!
I would argue that Another Wonderful Life only having outfit DLC is a bonus rather than a negative. There’s something to be said for just buying a complete game! But yes, some of the quality-of-life improvements were nice at the start of the game, but made the final two chapters a bit of a slog.

  4. I’m actually super loving Fae Farm despite all the flak it’s gotten! I never got into the hybrid flower breeding though. I like the DLC, I’m working my way through getting all the trinkets. My other big play foe 2033 was SoS AWL though again not into the hybrids. Anyway happy new year Eli! Congrats on the success of your channel this year.

  5. Definately agree with winds of anthos. I love how its easy to pick up where you left off if you dont play it for a while. Its a comfort zone for me. Too bad about the dlc. I love the style. Im still considering fae farm. Have a happy and safe new year Eli and community❤😊

  6. One farm sim I've nearly finished is Before The Green moon, which is ugly cute and is giving me big awl vibes despite apparently being more inspired by HM64. Definitely for anyone who wants a shorter experience with weird vibes though there are some minor issues.
I've put 90hrs into SoS AWL and haven't beaten it despite being an old favourite, I don't recommend it.
Fae Farm characters look too ugly for me to care (which is funny cuz of what I'm playing now).
Also didn't pick up Paleo because of Switch preference, I definitely am on the not really liking farm sims without romance.

  7. Out of the ones you mentioned, I only played WoA. I enjoyed it but definitely didn't finish it. I think it just took way too long to do anything and that made me lose interest.

I also played friends of mineral town this year and I REALLY enjoyed that game.

  8. Which Disney Dreamlight Valley version did you get? One reason why I never got the game was because I kept hearing about all of the issues the Switch version has, and that be the only version I could get since there's NO way I'd get it for my PC.

Out of the Cozy games I played, my fav is Coral Island (PC version). I am taking a break though.

Out of the ones mentioned here, I've only played 2 of them, and my fav between them was HM:WoA and I really enjoyed it. I got through the main game before I stopped at one point because I got other games and got distracted lol. Like now I am playing Sun Haven and Wylde Flowers haha. Those were my Christmas and Bday gift for myself since I got gift cards for Steam and Nintendo. I do want to return to Harvest Moon to get married at some point though. I think the only critique of that game I have is I am not a big fan of hybrid farming in order to get certain things, especially since I have to use a guide to get what I want exactly. I hope Natsume adds a bit more depth to the chars (especially Marriage candidates) in future games. Because I'll just keep comparing them to SDV and Coral Island's chars. I do hope Natsume doesn't change the mining mechanics in the future, it's my fav mining method in any cozy game I've done.

I did play Fae Farm when it was free for a week and the gameplay is fun, but yeah I could immediately tell I wouldn't enjoy it as much because of the char interactions and I am finding that crafting isn't my biggest thing when it comes to games. Plus that price point, it's not worth it.

Next year I am looking forward to Fields of Mistra (sp?) out of the Farming Sims. It's supposed to come out next year lol. The art style is reminding me of anime from the 80s, which is my childhood lol. Definitely looking forward to the SDV 1.6 update. Outside the farming genre, I am also planning to get the new Princess Peach game and I also getting into the indie Visual Novel scene more and a new game I heard about is going to have it's demo come out in February (my bet is on Valentines Day since it's a romance Visual novel lol).
